How to prep 4x S9 miners for submersion to build your own #bitcoinwaterheater.
Step 1: disassemble the miners - yes some of them are filthy...
Step 2: clean them with compressed air
Step 3: Put some of Bitcool in a pan and wash each part in it, use a brush to get some of the grime off
Step 4: Repeat for all miners and all parts of the miner.
Step 5: put miners together again and let them rest after the stress
Step 6: Don't throw away the used Bitcool! You can filter it through a paper towel and a funnel and are ready for the next cleaning. Also I've heard that the leftover grounds in the pan show the future mining difficulty, you decide... ;)
And that's it! With a second S9 we have now 2x 1600W = 3800W of heating power, which is the same as the electrical coils, so we can compare the original WaterHeater vs the Miners even better.

The #SilentBitcoinSpaceHeater
A heating solution based on an Antminer S9 which allows of heating rooms without the crazy loud 90db Fans of an ASIC. Built with widely available parts and 3D printed pieces. Allowing anybody to build this at home. Of course OpenSource.
It has a heating power of 900W-1600W (depending on radiator size, room temperature and the power supply). Runs on 110V and 220V. And because it uses 12V everything there is no need for additional power.
The silent 12V fans are controlled by @braiins_systems Braiins running on the S9, ensuring the fans only run as fast as needed (therefore more silent).
The pump is a simple 12V 15W submersible pump using the 12V from the control board as well.
