1/ Last week, we launched Puddle, a tool built on the @flow_blockchain, which enables community builders to easily mint, manage, get insights and engage their community via the use of NFTs.

But, what is $FLOW and perhaps more importantly, WHY $FLOW?

2/ The $FLOW blockchain was first announced in 2019 by the @dapperlabs team and went live on mainnet in 2020.

The @dapperlabs team is also responsible for @CryptoKitties, which created the very first NFT boom back in 2017 (and also famously clogged the Ethereum network)!

3/ Yes! $FLOW and the @dapperlabs team are behind arguably two of the biggest NFT booms, first with @CryptoKitties and then once again with the @nbatopshot NFT collection.

Today, there are 7,000+ developers working on the $FLOW blockchain, with 11M+ registered wallets.

4/ $FLOW focuses on targeting users who are not familiar with crypto, mainly through making the minting and trading of NFTs safe and easy.

This has attracted many well-known brands such as @NBA, @ufc, @NFL, @warnermusic and more to partner up with $FLOW for their own NFT drops.

5/ How does $FLOW do this?

For starters, $FLOW is perfect for non-crypto natives. $FLOW is designed to be simple, which is great for brands trying to engage their community, without having to worry too much about the technical hurdles.

6/ This is achieved through:
- NFT purchases by credit cards
- More human-readable transactions
- Custodial vs non-custodial wallets
- Shorter wallet addresses
- Removing the need to remember private keys

$FLOW gives users options for them to choose their own user journey.

7/ For brands that are breaking into the Web3 space over from the Web2 space, this is a key factor as the process of onboarding into crypto has always been regarded as confusing and difficult, especially for non-tech savvy users.

8/ More than that, with the spate of erratic weather conditions around the world in recently, climate change has never been a bigger problem.

Blockchains have always been criticised for being environmentally destructive for the large amount of energy they consume. But not $FLOW!

9/ $FLOW seeks to be a leader in energy efficiency. Compared to other leading blockchains, $FLOW consumes significantly less energy.

10/ In fact, $FLOW consumes so little energy that minting an NFT on $FLOW is less energy consuming than an Instagram post!

11/ It just keeps getting better!

Just last week, @instagram has also just partnered with @hellodapper, powered by the $FLOW blockchain, allowing users on $FLOW to showcase their NFTs directly to their Instagram profile.

12/ Beyond that, $FLOW has taken another step towards progressive decentralisation with permissionless deployment in July this year.

This creates endless possibilities as devs can now deploy contracts freely on the $FLOW blockchain without review.
