another westerner dehumanizing and devaluing critical opinion of ukrainians amid genocide. if ukrainians say you do shitty job covering ukraine than you do shitty job covering ukraine. listen, learn, do better next time or change topic and stop profiting off our stories
no matter how unfair the criticism might feel, screenshoting prominent ukrainians like @cryptodrftng and @MelaniePodolyak next to explicit comments is manipulative and devalues, dehumanizes ukrainian voices + will fuel more online abuse their way amid already ongoing genocide
moreover, ukrainians living through genocide can be as rude as they want and no one from safe-and-west has any moral business policing it. even i as a ukrainian won’t ever allow myself to do that. if your fragile ego can’t handle it then maybe you are on the wrong beat

on august 1st he tried to evacuate from his village in kherson region together with his father, mother and brother, as well as his neighbor and her son. they asked a volunteer with a car to help.
a vehicle packed with two families, including a volunteer and his girlfriend, had just left the village of starosillya when russians hit it with a rocket. the volunteer and his girlfriend were killed on the spot

1) foreign weapons come, russia starts losing
2) amnesty sidelines own ukraine team, sends investigators with 0 regional background
3) on top of far-fetched report, same investigators feed the public other narratives against arming ukraine
4) russia picks them all up instantly
as a journalist i detest conspiracy theories. but i also don’t believe in accidents that involve several complicated actions unfolding in a self-reinforcing sequence with perfect timing.
i demand from @amnesty a public investigation. also clarification what has happened with the data they collected about ukrianian army positions.

there’s a legitimate concern we’ve just witness an act of aiding terrorism by a major international organization.
