So where are we this Sunday & what’s the ask?

2 working groups have been set up by @olivercoppard . A 3rd working group has now started, which will next week look at a further way forward. Extremely late in the day but still good.

I have a meeting with John Whittaker agreed in principle. I need to get this meeting fixed & brought forward. I will try.

@TUI are happy to operate from @DSA_Airport which is as busy as ever taking flights from other airports that cannot cope.

My 3 asks of you:

1. If you work at @DSA_Airport you must think positive. It’s hard I know but if morale is low, Peel win & our @SouthYorksMCA get out of the responsibility of making the strong and bold decisions that will save our airport.

2. Write to Peel and tell them to work with @SouthYorksMCA and agree to keep our @DSA_Airport open for a minimum of two years while the ‘powers that be’ work through the difficulties of a long term deal.

3. Tell your elected representatives not to make this party political. If we make this party political and go against each other, Peel win and our airport @DSA_Airport closes.

I heard misinformation yesterday regarding who funded @TeesAirport . This is not government’s place to step in. It’s the @SouthYorksMCA. For clarification I checked this again last night with @BenHouchen.

.@BenHouchen received no additional help from central government to buy @TeesAirport. As Mayor he bought Teeside Airport through powers and monies that were devolved to him and a vision of a great future for his home.

.@olivercoppard has the same powers as @BenHouchen and exactly twice the money. He can do the same.
