A note about #εβρος. For almost a month now we have been following, researching and documenting the case of the 40 refugees on the islet at the Greek-Turkish land border 1/8

2/8 We have collected mountains of evidence of their presence and plight, including photos with verified metadata...

3/8 Live locations shared by the group from various days and times of day...

4/8 Live video calls between reporters, the refugees and lawyers taking us through the islet...

5/8 And of course witness testimonies, of Greeks, on the Greek bank of Evros, who have heard their screams and cries for help.

6/8 For many people, including, unfortunately, "colleagues" who are never shy of doing the bidding of whoever is in power, an Everest of proof pales in comparison to whatever unsourced, single-paragraph news item or conspiracy theory fits their narrative and interests.

7/ As for the insulting, venomous trolls that fester twitter and our societies, I care very little - on the contrary, the more they attack, the more I feel I am doing my job right.
