Water break, not the expected start. Conceded from a corner in the first 10 minutes & then from a really good diagonal which put Club America's striker 1v1. All chances have been theirs so far.
Spence been really good & our best player. Shelina & some others still little leggy.

Behind 2-0 at Half time, grew into the game a bit, but still need to do more to create good chances.

Club America are 7 games into their season, while this is our first pre season game with 3 new players in the attack (Ramona, Spence & Nikola). The difference was evident.

Spence our best player easily, Neville close 2nd. Nikola did well holding up possession up front & bringing down long balls. Ramona not very much involved. Shelina looked a lot leggy to start the game, but got better & gave a sloppy 1v1 which they missed. Others did ok.

Molly got caught flat footed a bit at RB & was taken on easily at times. But she did well during our build-up. Korpela preferred to play long to her out wide & she did well to hold off & often play it to Spence, who then looked for runners in the channel. More of that hopefully.

Angharad & Asmita look like they are about to come on 2nd half.

Molly who looked to have cramped near the end of 1st half might be making way. Ramona looks to be the other player going out. As I said previously, she looked less involved that half.

So it was Ramona & Naz going off.

Asmita comes on the left & Neville moves out wide right taking Naz's place. Angharad the deepest midfielder now.

Yessss finally! Rosella took a free-kick with her left foot, wasn't great but yeah. Remember, she takes penalties with her right.

Also, Spence who's looked to have pulled something is off for new signing Celine. Change in the goal as well, Spencer on.

GOAAAAL!! 1-2. Celin with some really good play which involved a great through ball from Angharad (I think).

Celin's already making the difference. She is taking up positions quite high up, next to Nikola. It's like a 4231 turning into 424 at times.

Realised I didn't even mention the goal scorer in the last tweet. It was all Celin's work who squared it to Nikola rather than going for goal, while being 1v1.

Ellie looks to be coming on.
Also Club America are getting lots of joy on our left side, Asmita struggling & on yellow

Interesting sub, Ellie comes on for Nikola & is playing up top! 🤷‍♂️

Water break 2nd half. We've changed things since Celin has come on. Still no team has complete control over the game & Club America look dangerous on transitions specially from our left side.

Finishes 2-1 to Club America. We had a couple of half chances & a couple of good deliveries into the box from set piece but couldn't turn that into a good shot.

A much better 2nd half. Celin looked really promising. Ellie couldn't replicate Nikola's dominance upfront.

Another tactical thing that I found interesting in the 2nd half was us using a lop sided full back system. Molly stayed deep for most times, while Asmita looked to push up high on the left.

Really impressed by Angharad as well, the quickness with which she moves the ball is fantastic. Lots of first time passes to quickly change the direction of play. Her & Celin are gonna take that playing 11 position real soon.

Got the opportunity to say Congrats to the GOAT Ash Neville on getting married. She was totally knackered after going up & down the whole game.

Got to talk with Rosella & the Skipper Shelina as well.

Up in the thread I mentioned how I had a theory about her being naturally left footer. I asked her about that. She said that she doesn't think which foot she's using more & is comfortable with both.

Also got to chat a lot with the Gaffer who was gracious enough to come over to the other side for a close picture as I wasn't allowed to go into that space in the middle.

She said no more transfers this season & that the 2nd half was a back 3 as I mentioned above.
