"In preparation for the G20, the president needs to be a lot more in the international area. The international situation is getting worse. The conflicting tendencies in the world may hinder our achievements and capabilities," Jusuf said.

"Only through ASEAN can we exert our influence. Slowly but surely, we will be facing more obstacles, like Taiwan for example."

"This is an effort that Indonesia not only has the right to participate in, but also to play a bigger role in. ASEAN is an instrument to get to that level. It is an important effort to be able to develop."

"When it comes to human rights violations in Indonesia [...] our friends at NGOs and agencies are waiting to see what the President will do with his decree," @pjvermonte said.
