It's time to be absolutely blunt about this governments strategy towards the most clinically vulnerable in our society, the 500,000 + who are immunocompromised @SteveBarclay @CMO_England @DHSCgovuk @NICEComms @evusheld4theuk #evusheld4theuk #EvusheldNow

2/ the strategy is quite simply to offer all of the protections against catching Covid-19 to the wider population through vaccinations, and no protection at all to the most clinically vulnerable, those who are immunocompromised and will have little or no response to vaccinations

3/ The SPC for the latest vaccine clearly show that the response for immunocompromised people is not tested (this wording is not unique to this vaccine)

4/ You will see that there is no certainty over length of protection or levels of immunity, which means that, as with all of the vaccines the government @SteveBarclay is prepared to take a leap of faith with the vaccines in a way it is not prepared to do with #evusheld

@SteveBarclay 5/This is despite the @APPG_VGP recent consultation and recommendations, with overwhelming support from numerous groups and clinicians for provision of #evusheld for the immunocompromised. Instead the gov is demanding yet more data for #evusheld in a way it doesn't for vaccines

6/ Instead it has been tossed to @NICEComms to create further delays but @DHSCgovuk has not even offered an official statement about this or any transparency into rationale for decision making

7/ JCVI has issued a statement which you will see can only mention contacts of the immunocompromised being vaccinated because it knows that the vaccine will not offer an adequate response for those who are actually immunocompromised

8/You will also see from the PIL for the vaccine that it recognises the lack of protection and puts the onus entirely on the immunocompromised to basically keep on isolating

9/The government has wasted billions of pounds throughout this pandemic and now it won't procure the lifeline for those people who are not protected by vaccines

10/ These people are sentenced to an eternal non-life where they cannot participate in the most basic of things, things that the rest of us take totally for granted. The risks are too great to them, for those not directly affected you cannot even imagine it.

11/ For whatever reason these people are forgotten by this government, lost in a void where they have been put by this government and where they seem happy to let them stay. All because unlike countries all over the world they won't procure #Evusheld

12/ This is immoral and active discrimination. The decision must be reviewed. If you van help influence this and raise the profile please do, these people are desperate @wesstreeting @vickyfoxcroft @GwynneMP @maggie_erewash
