Geoffrey Samuel Shough aka #TexasPleather has taken a plea deal.

Amid a bunch of Jan. 6 activity at the D.C. federal courthouse, there was a massive police and fire response this afternoon to a report of white powder, a Fire and EMS spokesperson tells @lizbrownkaiser.

An alarm went off in the building.
NBC News' @OSonnier was inside a courtroom for the Kyle Fitzsimons trial when there were a series of loud beeps went off. Judge said they might have to evacuate.
Washington DC Fire and EMS Department official to @lizbrownkaiser: "The substance has been deemed not a hazard."

Remember in Nov. 2020 how two QAnoners were arrested with weapons outside the election center in Philly?

One of them just got popped for entering the Capitol. He was identified inside the building about a year ago.

At his bench trial, a lawyer for Kyle Fitzsimons says that the Jan. 6 defendant heard conspiracy theories about the election not just from people wearing aluminum-foil hats, but “from the president of the United States himself.”
Fitzsimons believed there was a legitimate and legal path towards contesting the election happening inside the Capitol, his lawyer says.

He also apparently visited the @JP2Shrine on his trip to D.C. (before the Capitol attack).
Bench trials move much more quickly than jury trials. Government has called its first witness is already up. MPD sergeant of 19 years who was activated as part of special operations division.
