At his bench trial, a lawyer for Kyle Fitzsimons says that the Jan. 6 defendant heard conspiracy theories about the election not just from people wearing aluminum-foil hats, but “from the president of the United States himself.”
Fitzsimons believed there was a legitimate and legal path towards contesting the election happening inside the Capitol, his lawyer says.
