Both good prospects, can see the looser getting another shot. I really like the heart of Hassanzada, he never gives up on himself. Fights long, good striking. Sadykhov also has good striking.
Hassanzada is nasty off his back elbows, punches, subs, very active guard. Only criticism could be he stays on his back for too long, however he wins rounds and fights off his back so π€·πΌββοΈ
Did see Sadykhov get hurt in a fight when going back, perhaps dosent have best defense on the back foot. Hassanzada can finish, can go 3 hard rounds. Really like him as a dog here.
Leite vs Cowan
Good fight IQ for Leite, when on top she dosent usually loose the position (Cowan does have good scrambles but same for for Leite). Cowan has low Fight IQ from what i seen, was taking down a fighter with good BJJ and kept getting trapped in arm bar attempts.
But yet kept leaving her arms out instead of disengaging π€¦ Leite can hold her own on feet too. Also showed good work in the clinch.
Cartwright vs Johnson
Cartwright very impressive in most fights. Big power, good wrestling, good bjj. Johnson was on contender couple years back just got destroyed on the ground by Lawrence taken down continuously. Same in his fight against Mo where he got the triangle.
Perhaps lucked out there though and not happening next time he gets mauled. Johnson def has nice long striking and nasty KOs. But has been dominated on ground and KOd before,
since Cartwright can do both i think he gets in his head her of is it striking or wrestling and thats what costs him. Either goes to defend and takedown and KOd, or thinks striking and gets wrestled. Cartwrights last fight was weird but i give him benefit of doubt.
Valenzuela vs Ribeiro
I think Valenzuela has more ways to win here, by dec, on ground by tko or sub or KO on feet. Ribeiro is a bit weird, seems to back up a skirt around cages alot looking for counters. Reminded me on Sam Alvey tbh lol.
Although he does have nice counter hooks and KO power. Swinging wild powerful hooks can tire Ribeiro too. Side not some of the regional fights you find researching these are hilarious, he almost soccer kicked his opponent, then started hitting him with 12-6 elbows.
Ref didnt have a clue nor could make his mind up lol. (Also see Cartwrights last fight, his opponent and the ref are hilarious but also makes your cringe you just know its coming). But i think if Ivan mixes it up heβll get the win.
Esteban vs Paull
Both guys have power, although Paull has been fighting on lower level UK MMA scene. Also shown deficiencies in grappling department, Esteban is constantly getting better and is very good everywhere.
Was actually suprised expected him to be a swang and bang big power from his record, but was not. Good striking, power, takedowns, BJJ (watch out for the kimura). He has the type of power where he hits you, you die.
Some nasty KOs on his record, never a tko π Also have seen Paull rocked pretty bad in a couple of fights. Can almost want to root for Paull for his story but you cant bet with your heart.
Thread with reasons as to why i picked each fighter and potential scenarios in each fight. Likes and RTs appreciated, took some time β¬οΈ π₯ #UFCVegas48#MMATwitter#UFCPicks
Mario Bautista πΊπΈ (-300) 3u
Only big favourite of the night im backing, unlucky last time out against Trevin. Perrin is taking it on short notice and i dont think hes anything special, expect Bautista to do whatever he wants to him. Keeping it short and sweet with this one.
Jesse Strader πΊπΈ (+210) 1u
Honestly think this is more of a toss up than the odds suggest. Chad looked decent on the contender considering i thought heβd probably loose. Although nothing special, seems like a grinder.
