Abilene is the county seat of Taylor County. My mother & her eight brothers & sisters grew up working on the family dairy farm there. It's still a farming area. It's also the home of Dyess Air Force Base. Bottom line, this is a ruby red area with a huge turnout for Beto.

One issue that motivates Texans is the need for better gun safety laws, especially after the Uvalde massacre.

"Most voters said Gov. Greg Abbott and elected officials aren’t doing enough to prevent mass shootings".

Another critical issue is the reliability and affordability of the Texas power grid:

Greg Abbott & the Texas GOP are on the wrong side of these issues. They're also on the wrong side of women's rights. As the number of registered voters continues to increase, the fall elections will come down to turnout in an era of new voting restrictions. #BetoforGovernor2022
