In 1972 after a match at Castroper Strasse, a minority of Bochum supporters started on some Bayern fans just outside our stadium.
VfL's fan group the Bochumer Jungen stepped in and helped the Bayern supporters. (2/4)

After helping, the Bochum fans invited the Bayern fans to a local pub in Bochum.
Both sets of fans shared a few drinks and told stories of their clubs and cities. From then on, a connection and friendship between the two clubs was formed. π»π€ (3/4)

The clubs have since shared support. When #meinVfL play in Bavaria / when Bayern play in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Bayern fans even celebrated the anniversary of our fan group (see below).
