Now, back to the Women’s Health Plan which was published by @scotgov 12 months ago.
It’s an ambitious plan because it needs to be. As we are being reminded today, conditions like Endometriosis are still being diagnosed far too late. 3/
📣 In my party @ScottishLabour, @CMochan is amplifying the voices of women stuck on long waiting lists while their physical and mental health deteriorates.
Sadly, these delays pre-exist Covid and have been exacerbated by poor workforce planning on the part of @scotgov. 4/
In @ScotParl we must see the Women’s Health Plan backed by the right resources.
I’m proud to chair @CPGWomensHealth working with MSPs across Parliament and women and groups working in our communities. We will always advocate for women’s health and push for progress. Join us. 5/
Women’s health champions should have been appointed by @scotgov now. In their absence, activists are organising; women are fed up waiting.
Grassroots campaigns are holding the Scottish government and health boards to account, with @backoffscotland being a brilliant example. 6/
One further example is reproductive health. It’s ridiculous that a woman in Glasgow endured a six-month wait and 170-mile trip to have an IUD coil removed. 7/
