Debtor Stations: NBC Extends Enforcement To Wednesday
The Nigeria Broadcasting Commission has extended its enforcement of the revocation order on debtor broadcast stations to Wednesday.
NBC had on Friday stated that licenses of the debtor stations had been revoked and they had within 24 hours to shut down operations but that has now been extended.
In a fresh press statement issued on Saturday, NBC said, “This is to inform all the affected broadcast stations whose licenses were revoked and given 24 hours to pay all outstanding license fees
that the National Broadcasting Commission has extended the period which all outstanding debts are to be paid from 24 hours to Wednesday August 23, 2022.
"All affected broadcast Stations who fail to defray their debts on or before August 23, 2022 are directed to shut down by 12 am on August 24, 2022.”
Francis Olagoke Oguntulu, the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area chairman, Kehinde Oloyede, has been shot dead by some armed men at a party.
In a statement from the media office of the LG boss on Sunday, it was revealed that Oguntulu was shot at and axed on Adeyemi street, Oshod, on Friday. Oguntulu died on Sunday morning from his injuries.

Letter: Senate Committee Charges N50,000 For Workshop
The Senate Committee on Electoral Matters has asked participants to pay for a workshop for political parties and their candidates scheduled to hold from August 30 to 31, 2022.

NBC Debt: We're Making Efforts To Pay, Says Radio Kwara
The Kwara State Broadcasting Corporation, had said that efforts are being made to offset the debts of the organisation to the Nigeria Broadcasting Commission.
NBC had released a list of debtors on Friday and revoked their licences. Stations belonging to the Kwara State government were affected by the action.
In a statement signed by the General Manager, Radio Kwara, Kayode Aremu, on Friday, the debt was acknowledged and a promise made to settle the debt.
