The Western reaction to Dasha Dugina’s murder has been uniformly ghoulish, degenerate, and vile to witness. Which was not surprising. What is surprising is the reaction of the big Ukrainian tg channels, which think this was a set-up by Azov or MI6 that won’t end well for Ukraine
My own version: The Ze-men had planned to another media “peremoga” for the West (to a lesser at home). Notice they’d run a long documentary painting Dugin as Putin’s Goebbels (or Alfred Rosenberg) on Ukr tv a day before the attack.
Dugin was chosen for his outsize influence in the west and fringe status at home. The real Kremlin propagandists (Soloviev, Skabeeva, Simonyan) have security details and agents monitoring for plots against them. Going after Dugin is like putting out a hit on Moldbug. Who’d care?
If they’d killed just him, that’d be possible to spin as a “peremoga”… as it stands, killing the daughter of a fringe intellectual in front him looks vile to the people outside the sportsgame and an SOP that the BHLs of the world won’t like going global.
I’m surprised by the Kremlin reaction tho… I’d expected vague insinuations about Ukr state involvement since an attack like this makes the Rus state look weak and incompetent.
But no, they’re taking it all the way. I wouldn’t be surprised by Putin (or maybe Medvedev) meeting personally with Dugin now to show support at this difficult time. This attack effectively brings him out of obscurity and will give his ideas a second (first?) wind inside of Rus.
Inside of Russia, especially among the patriotic alternative, this attack has hardened their positions. It may even make the maximalist viewpoint go mainstream (no Ukr state at all). The thing about Dasha Dugina was that she was not a particularly influential thinker or figure.
But she knew a lot of people and they liked her for her cheery, friendly personality. This made her fun to listen to on livestreams, like a real person version of an Evangelion girl given to pretentious rambling. It hit me hard to know that the girl of those streams is now gone.
If you speak Russian, I’d suggest this stream. It’s the last one I’d seen and one I’d recommend to get a taste of her personality
In a way, the hobgoblins of post-modernity have given her the ultimate gift: a 20th Century death. She now joins the likes of Zhoga and Givi in Russian Eternity, which is a much better place than the Soylent mulch that the cat ladies and bugmen laughing at her now will end up in.

The biggest problem he sees is that Rus forces are often outnumbered 10-to-1 in Donbass, which creates loads of problems for the advancing force.
The solution is either mobilization or a comprehensive reform of the armed forces. “It’s not that we don’t have enough people it’s that we don’t distribute them properly.”
