14, 15 Aug - the British empire in South Asia hand over power to their proteges- Muslim League & Hindu-controlled Congress

17 Aug- Punjab's partition published. Sikh national homeland split without delineating the rightful share for a Sikh state, but promise of autonomy in East

1947: Half the Sikh nation endure a violent population exchange towards East.
Instead of autonomy, forced to share democracy with Indians. De-facto, non-Punjabis given full control of economic, political, educational, cultural, linguistic, & social life of the Sikh nation

22 Oct - The State of Jammu & Kashmir invaded by Pakistan
22-27 Oct - India blackmails J&K to accede for military support (It's like the UK annexing France & NL for help during WW2)

IND & PAK both hold J&K territory(EFFECTIVELY, a COLLUSION just like the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact)

1950s- Sikh nation campain for a Punjabi province instead of Indian-Hindi imposition

1960s- regime further splits East Punjab on religious (rather than Linguistic) lines whilst controlling its affairs forcibly

1970s- regime imposes dictatorship (euphemism used: emergency)

1970s- Sikh nation launch peaceful mass civil disobedience against dictatorship- volunteer mass-arrests (Sikhs form 40% of all arrests)

1970s- Sikhs define a charter for the terms of the autonomy (within Indian Union) promised to them- called it Anandpur Sahib Resolution (ASR)

1982-84s - Regime labels the charter 'separatist' (even though few Sikhs till that time seek outright independence from India). Regime sidesteps negotiation, indulges in tactics & provocations

1980s- Sikh civil rights further curtailed (police excesses, suspended rule of law)

1982-84: Sikhs become adament on ASR as the minimum viable charter

1984: Indian regime attacks the Darbar Sahib Complex & simultaneously multiple other Gurdwaras around Punjab
Indian voters reward regime with massive win. For Sikhs, this is no democracy but a hostage situation

1984 onwards: Sikh nation now focus on full independence.
Regime launches genocidal violence (outwardly hidden by media control, global image as a democracy, partly helped by UK/West's eagerness to prove democracy a success in the 'third' world)

1984: Hindu mobs with regime's backing indulge in mass-violence against Sikh civilians allegedly in retaliation for indira assasination

(compare how no one got harmed like this for MK Gandhi's or Rajiv's assasinations done by Hindus)

1984: True to Sikh character, Sikhs do not retaliate with blind violence in Punjab, but only with targeted retaliations against known perpetrators. Armed resistance starts in Punjab

1980s: Armed insurgency makes progress with key figures simultaneously calling for referendum

1980s: Many Pro independence leaders like Bibi Bimal Kaur Khalsa & Sardar @SimranjitSADA win elections with LARGE margins, but regime swiftly silences these initiatives - instead, they prop up their own stooges & also infiltrate the armed resistance to cause criminal acts

1990s: armed resistence ends with some tactical wins

1990s-2000s: Mass-emigration of Sikhs tacitly encouraged by regime (no economic prospects, no political control over their own homeland, regime's 'extractive' attitude towards Punjab.
In the West, there's at least rule of law)

2020-21: Regime (of 550 MP's, only 13 are actually elected from Punjab, rest have no connection with it. So for Sikhs, they effectively rule by writ), casually creates anti-farmer laws that lead to year-long peaceful protest led by Punjab farmers.
Another year wasted

2022: Sikh political suspects like #FreeJaggiNow in prison without trial for 5 years. Sikh POLITICAL prisoners ('bandhi Singh') in prison far exceeding normal sentences for similar charges

Meanwhile, regime loyalist Hindus CONVICTED of severe inhumanity r freed up as heroes

2022 & beyond: The case for full Sikh statehood needs to be heard by a neutral & independent international coalition or court.

For the genocidal violence, we don't want retaliation but confessions & interviews of the perpetrators still alive, to serve as lessons for the world

Nations that have endured & overcome similar histories must offer solidarity, moral, & diplomatic support (such as advocacy at @UN or @CIJ_ICJ)

We must not & do not need to have tolerance for fakes & scammers (empires masquerading as 'nations')

Must not give free passes to some

They acculturated+converted+assimilated many by propaganda & misinformation (their main strength), or even by force

But many of us think, observe, remember, & WILL use our voice as Maria Skłodowska Curie used hers for her Poland🇵🇱
