Just stumbled across this while researching Japanese fascism - Pewdiepie’s talks about his favourite author the traditionalist fascist Mishima but seems to be pretty positive about the guy which is really weird
Basically the dude is kinda like Japanese Evola - but a better writer. The second book that is referenced by Pewds in the description is pretty good outline of his ideology of wanting to restore feudal Japan. Mishima has been a influence on Japanese and Western fascism
I can totally accept someone liking work done by horrible people - happens all the time. But if you watch the video he seems to admire the dude personally beyond his writings… which is very weird.
Mishima committed ritualistic suicide in the hopes the army would restore the emperor as an autocratic monarch

Don’t think this is helpful at all. We are brainwashed to be racist. Every white person in the West is raised in white supremacy. Most people don’t realise it - helps more if we help our family members learn that rather than never speak to them again.
I confront my parents if they say something racially insensitive. Hopefully it has an impact. They aren’t racist zealots just people who never question that BS they were indoctrinated in. Am I just mean to never speak to them because I can’t convert them to anti-racism quickly?
If you are a young person who has great moral parents with similar values I’m happy for you. Most of us won’t, and it’s better for them to learn from their family because if not us who will teach them anything?
The worst part about doing YouTube is when it’s going bad it’s feel like it will never get better 😮💨 favour me again mighty algorithm 😩
The thing that’s suck about when it’s going bad - because of capitalism - you have to focus more on a combination of stuff you want to make and stuff that will do well - rather than doing what you want (which you can more when things are going okay)
I’ve had bad periods, I think now is the worst I’ve had since Sept 2021 in terms of subs (views are steady enough, ad rev not great) - so trying to remind myself it does get bad sometimes before getting better (until one day it won’t of course…)
This is a totally basic bitch recommendation but because some people are treating war like a game or a movie - Tim O’Brien’s work on his own experience in Vietnam is such a good read for anyone who wants a personal insight to the horror and psychological trauma of war
The part that sticks out the most is Tim describing how scared he was to step on a land mine or IED and just how traumatising it was to have that on your mind all the time while walking in the countryside - while seeing others having their legs blown off or dying
The way he describes friendly fire too - one of the soldiers getting ran over by their own tank being the worst thing he describes - is pretty horrific. His descriptions of the carnage of war really stick in your mind. Talking about ripped apart bodies just rotting in the sun.
Honestly the reaction to my Ukraine streams and videos is making me reassess my content abit and the audience I’ve fostered on YouTube. I think I need to be more upfront with my politics because people getting outraged at some of what I said is concerning
Think I lost like 50 subs in an hour tonight for saying on stream that I want Ukraine to win and support their defence but don’t like the nationalism and war is horrific, a European defence force should replace NATO because Europe just get used for US imperialism
And there is a massive double standard with the reaction to Ukraine compared to other wars. Even if you don’t agree with that - are these leftist positions really not understandable? I thought they were but again some of my audience don’t think so
The whole Ukraine situation is radicalising as hell. We’ve spent over ten years watching North African/Middle Eastern refugees being killed by xenophobic anti-refugee policies. Children washing up dead on beaches, refugees being gassed and beaten by European border police >
whole families drowning - Being told again and again that there is ‘no room’. But like we’ve always known there is room! Europeans are removing all red tape to let thousands of Ukrainians in (which is great) but why the hell did we have to watch so many other refugees die!!!!
It’s not even just the refugee stuff. Jeremy Corbyn is labelled a terrorist sympathiser for helping the Northern Ireland peace process during the war against U.K. occupation - but now apparently we are allowed to support, fund and even go and fight occupation in Ukraine!!!
So I like Elden Ring but the way people are praising this game is insane. Saying it redefines open world games and will be as influential as Breath of the Wild and it’s like the best thing ever made. It’s basically just Dark Souls in an open world inspired by BOTW - that’s it
It’s pretty simple. It’s like me saying Assassins Creed Origins was a massive leap for the medium just because it took AC into a big constant open world inspired by Witcher 3. Elden Ring is for sure a good game but it’s not pushing forward the open world genre in any way imo
I’d say games like Red Dead 2, Witcher, Skyrim and BOTW are different sides of a spectrum of games that changed up the open world formula in interesting ways. RD2 for the insane attention to detail and realism while BOTW was all about total freedom, Witcher for quest design
