It's started! CEDED 2022 Hosted by Keiichi Maezawa of GAME FREAK. Full English translation of the presentation will come later.
Mostly just setting the story for how Pokemon assets were developed throughout the series, up until Legends Arceus.
Confirmation that Pokemon Legends Arceus began development in Fall of 2018, with Scarlet and Violet starting around the time Generation 8 was finishing up.
Means both games had three years of development.
Lots of specifications regarding the way Pokemon models are designed.
This User Interface is identical to the ones found in the leaked Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee prototypes.
Maezawa is going over how Pokemon models are stored for a consistent use, and are then tailored to each new game, with these examples being from Legends Arceus.
effects pipeline talk
from what I can gather, this is effectively talking about how effects such as ShaderFX, lighting etc. are applied far more efficiently with this new pipeline
rare footage of Yuzu running Legends Arceus on launch (joke)
more talk on the various model improvements and effects, such as how Spiritomb is opaque only from behind (?)
really glad he brought up Gastly here, the effect for it in Legends looks great
NEW CONCEPT ART for Jubilife Village, right image on picture 1 is a before-after of the effects being applied
Talking about the various improvements to the effects in Legends Arceus, such as bushy-looking hair, gel-like effects, "glowing" particles, Terastal variations
heard the words "Ruby, Sapphire & Emerald" in there, really can't wait to get this translated
Talking about the efficiency of being able to re-use animations between Pokemon with similar body-types.
Different "moulds(?)" such as a snake-like, a dragon-like, a dog or cat-like, etc to copy the motion from one to another
More animated slides about smaller and/or different bone structures being resizable between body types for efficiency.
Another example of sharing animations between Rayquaza and Barboach, as well as the recent implementation of motion capture to mainline Pokemon games.
hysterical looking in motion for pic 3 btw
Introduction of a "PokeRig" where they can essentially create building blocks that make up a Pokemon's model to allow for a more efficient pipeline.
Lots of spline showcases used here, toggles that allow for smoother movement (i'm really simplifying this for the sake of Twitter)
A goal to create various games with unique or differing artstyles using a shared set of models as a base.
GIF of it in action, someone should send this to ILCA
We're done! I'll try to get this uploaded ASAP, with full translations (hopefully) coming over the following days/weeks.

force a refresh
After 17 years, we've preserved the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers soundtrack at the highest quality that has ever been released.
a release like this is unprecedented, and here's why. 🧵
The majority of PMD2 music uploads are low quality, and lack proper loop points.
This release is recorded from a variety of sources (details later in thread) but has been hand-looped, and mastered as if it were for a CD release.
Crediting artists is hard, but from years of research and reaching out, we were forwarded credits that are almost all confirmed or properly inferred, so you can find out which artist made your favorite songs!
Seen some of confusion about Ivysaur's Pokemon RB artwork in particular, so here's a quick thread to clear some stuff up!
Here is every major interpretation of Ivysaur in the series.
[1] These all look different, what is Ivysaur's "true" color? Green, or Blue/Teal?
Ivysaur's true color is relative to where the artwork comes from. For example, in Generation 4, Ivysaur is a deep green in Diamond & Pearl, whereas it is significantly more blue-looking in… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
[3] What was with this post, about the "inaccurate colors" found below?
As mentioned in that thread, all of Red & Blue's existing artwork on the internet stems from US Promotional Material, seemingly originating in frorm the Pokemon Red & Blue Player's Guide released exclusively… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
For the very first time, we've been sent accurate scans of the original 251 Ken Sugimori Pokemon artwork to archive in high quality.
the difference is insane.
For over 20 years, the Red, Blue, Gold & Silver artwork of each Pokemon across the internet had inaccurate colors, were often misshapen, and generally VERY low quality.
Thanks to scans provided by @ExcaliburZero_Z, we're finally able to see how they were always meant to look.
@ExcaliburZero_Z Since this is a fairly large undertaking, the process will be as follows:
We're going to be removing all low-quality Red, Blue, Gold & Silver Pokemon artwork from the Asset Archive, effective immediately.
this is a really smart example of Kanto’s design, wedging a tiny route in-between the only two megacities encapsulates Tajiri’s initial pitch for Pokemon’s world— being based off his childhood home effectively being paved over by human development
the only issue with Route 7 is that it doesn’t go far enough with the idea. Wild Encounters are identical here to previous routes that suit a different context
putting some more man-made Kanto Pokemon here would probably fit a bit better
A really subtle detail about the Gen 2 and 4 interpretations of R7 is that a dirt path has started to form between Saffron and Celadon
fully completing the route’s transformation into something purely transitional for humans to cross
Saw Lewtwo at Pokemon Worlds today. Told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?”
but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued competing, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I was leaving I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen TCG Boosters
in his hands without paying. Masuda very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear him, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When he took one of the
