@PopSci Nothing you've claimed in your "article" can get away from the fact that there are only two symbols on this thread. Because there are two sexes.
@PopSci And of course, one of the diagrams had to be wrong. The male/female symbols should be switched here, to indicate female>male.

The “redefinition” of sex from a biological function around which some aspects of our bodies have evolved to a Mr Potato Head collection of body parts is the foundation on which their house of cards is built.
It is not unusual to read articles purportedly about sex that completely fail to mention reproductive function or why we have sexed bodies in the first place.
Imagine writing an article about the eye and not mentioning sight. That would be stupid, right?
In the case of an article about eyes, failing to mention sight would be considered a careless error (and oversight, ahem).
In the case of sex, it is deliberate. It is necessary.
“Rugby is for all shapes and sizes, so we must let males play in the female category.”
I had a brief look at the IRFU squads, specifically their heights and weights. By position.
(There was some data missing for a couple of females. Bear that in mind)
Most of the men are taller and heavier than most of the women. The tallest female IRFU international is 185cm. The heaviest (not the same woman) is 90kg.
If we isolate the area of overlap, we find, unsurprisingly, that the males in that overlap are scrum halfs, full backs etc. The forwards are rather far off the scale compared to the women 😂
A transwomen will carry male advantage into a protected category. A transman does no such thing.
We tend to let people “punch up” categories (providing it’s safe), and the argument could well be that *any female* should be allowed to “punch up” into male.
Interesting angle: “Given that most of the athletes born female who identify as “men” or “non-binary” voluntarily remain in the women’s category, your new World Triathlon policy will also be putting them at a disadvantage.”
“In other words, male-born trans athletes will lead to exclusion from podium places and rankings of trans athletes who were born female.”
