How to get a pay raise?

When it comes to asking for a salary increase, do you feel fear of conflict, discomfort speaking about money, or difficulty "selling yourself"?

I found a few tips recently, which made me better at it!
1. Ask the right person at the right time

It's always best to involve your manager in negotiations with upper management - they will be your best ally in getting what you want.

Don't wait!

At the end of the year, the budget for salary increases will already be allocated!
2. Do the groundwork

Write a brief overview of your impact and how you've contributed to value creation.

Use this as a resource during your 1:1 with your manager.

The discussion will be more straightforward if you have evidence of your successes.

3. Understand what you desire and appreciate your value.

And this is the most essential tip, even if it looks obvious.

You need to state your desired salary increase clearly, explain why you want it, and give your estimation of your worth on the market. (1/2)
To get started, ask your network of colleagues, friends, and acquaintances for help.

Reading salary reports to understand better the current job market is a good idea.

For example, the @talent_io salary report is fascinating and insightful. (2/2)

As you may know, there are two big players in this space.

Both are AI-powered.
@tabnine Copilot is based on OpenAI and is further trained from the code sent by developers who use the tool.

Tabnine is different. Tabnine runs on the developer's computer and doesn't send code behind the firewall.
