✨ Social has always has a big problem with bots & spam.

We're excited to work with @LensProtocol on a new solution to this: Have users verify themselves in a completely anonymous way, using World ID.

Human status available to all apps via the Lens API.

@LensProtocol A few years ago, I tried to start a new social network.

Its main appeals were knowing which profiles belonged to humans, and content composability.

Lens has been doing an amazing job at composability, excited to finally have human badges on it!
@LensProtocol I'll be working on adding human badges (for both Worldcoin & other solutions already supported by lens, like PoH) to Lens frontends over the coming weeks (@lensterxyz already shows them!).

If you're building a Lens frontend, hmu or check the lens api docs! ImageImage
oh, and of course, both the frontend and the contracts are open-source!

contracts: github.com/worldcoin/worl…

frontend: github.com/worldcoin/worl…

If you're looking into adding World ID to your project, they're a great example on how to do it. 😁

📜 My friends and I are buying one of the 11 surviving copies of the US Constitution, and you can help!

Introducing @ConstitutionDAO, a project to "rescue" the Constitution from the hands of private collectors, and put it back into the hands of The People.

WTF is going on? 👇
In September, @Sothebys announced they were going to auction the only copy of the Constitution still in the hands of private collectors.

This Reuters article surfaced in our feeds yesterday, and we started joking around with "aping into the constitution"

reuters.com/lifestyle/soth…
After playing with the idea for most of the day, we ended up jumping on a Zoom call, and things got real. 😯

We decided to form @ConstitutionDAO, a decentralized organization with the mission of putting this shared good back in the hands of the people.

It's happening. 🔥

✨ The blockchain is one of the biggest innovations of this century.

Like computers or the internet in their early stages, it's currently very limited.

We can't build most kinds of apps on-chain today, but we can future-proof them for when it evolves.

Welcome to web2.5 🚀
Smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain are insanely powerful ideas but, in practice, they contain some pretty big limitations.

Contract code must >24KB. Each assembly call is priced by a certain amount of gas (storing a word is ~20k), and the maximum gas for any tx is ~30M
This is powerful enough to build complex financial applications or even simple games.

But it's still not ready for more complex use-cases.

Definitely not a general replacement for the "backend" layer in web2 apps today.

Crypto is a trustless consensus engine.

It's not about the money, in fact it's not about money at all.

It just happened that the banking system was due for a big upgrade, and was the easiest thing to disrupt.

Everything else comes next.
If you think about it, the only innovation here is a decentralized database, a global computer.

All the ERCs & EIPs are just about agreeing on shared interfaces so that everyone can benefit from each other's data.

It's not money blocks, it's data ownership and interoperability.
Before discovering crypto, I tried to build an operative system.

I wanted data schemas to be the root of everything, and apps would just read and write to common schemas.

Twitter, Insta, FB, etc. would just all share a "post" primitive, that any other app could interact with.

🔥 I scanned my iris to participate in an experiment for global currency, UBI, biometric sybil-resistance and crypto.

Here’s what @worldcoin is, how it works, how it might not work, and why I’m very excited about it anyway. ImageImage
✨ Worldcoin is an attempt at creating a collectively-owned global currency that gets distributed fairly and anyone has access to.

To get there, they want to allow everyone to claim a free share of it. 💸
This presents an issue.

We need a way for every person on Earth to be able to prove that they are human (instead of a bot), and that they haven’t already claimed their share.

🤖 This is called Sybil Resistance, and it’s one of the hardest problems in decentralized systems.
