... under the national programmes of the Home Affairs Funds, as well as emergency assistance (EMAS) to address urgent needs in the management of borders, migration and asylum. 2/8
Out of this amount and in order to step up the support to the First Reception Centre of Pournara, in December 2020, the Commission made available to Cyprus EUR 9.3 million under the Specific Action of the Internal Security Fund – Borders (ISF-B). 3/8
This amount aims to address needs at the Pournara Centre mainly in terms of staff, operational costs, infrastructural developments, consumables and equipment for the centre. 4/8
In the new programming period 2021-2027, Cyprus will be allocated a significantly increased initial amount compared to the previous programming period 2014-2020, a total of EUR 133 million under its programmes for the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF), 5/8
... the Internal Security Fund (ISF), and the Border Management and Visa Policy Instrument (BMVI). The three Cypriot programmes are currently under preparation in view of their approval by the Commission. 6/8
In addition, in August 2022 the Commission awarded to Cyprus EUR 67.7 million under the Union Action call for support to the reception, asylum and return systems of Member States particularly exposed to migratory pressure at the EU external borders under AMIF. 7/8
