suna started to become well-acquainted with exhaustion since joining ejp.

every single day seemed endless, trudging home with aching muscles, and it repeats and repeats, a cycle he was unable to break free.

maybe rintarou will never break the rhythm.

at least he knew that there was someone that would help bring him comfort, just for a moment, allowing him tranquility.

the voice of osamu was a stunning one, taking him aback every time.

"oh, rin! how was practice?"

the heat stirring in his chest was just a reminder, that he would be okay, just for this moment.

"tiring, but what's new? how was your day?"

"awful, my professor's a fucking dick." osamu huffed, and rintarou was sure he was pouting.

he wasn't sure how he got so lucky to have someone like osamu in his life, to be able to love and care for him freely.

and god, he was so terribly in love. rintarou considered dropping volleyball to stay by osamu's side one too many times, being shut down by osamu each time.

"anyways, i don't want to bother you with my complaining."

"you're never a bother." how did osamu melt away his weariness so easily, when he wasn't even around? "talk about your day, i want to listen to you."

the soft giggle he elicited from osamu made his heart jump a little faster. "i tried a new cafe near the campus today, it had the most amazing sandwiches i've seen in the past year over here!"

osamu's voice did more for him than any divine being could. rintarou allowed himself to laugh, to smile, to talk, as long as it was osamu.

just for a moment, this moment, he could break free of his worn-out mind, allow himself some serenity.
