1) We all know the well-known sayings 'pinch punch first day of the month' and 'white rabbits, white rabbits'. They are said to bring people luck if you say them on the first day of the month before midday, but where did they come from? #WhiteRabbits#PinchPunch
2) Theory A: It originates from Medieval times when people believed in witches. Salt was believed to make witches weak, so the pinch part of the saying is the pinching of the salt and the punch part was to banish the witch once she was weakened by the salt.
3) Theory B: President George Washington met local Indian tribes on the first day of each month and at the meeting he would supply fruit punch with an added pinch of salt. This tradition became known as 'pinch and punch on the first of the month'.
4) Theory C: 'White rabbits, white rabbits' was written in the 'Notes &'Queries' 1909. It reads "My two daughters are in the habit of saying 'Rabbits!' on the first day of a month. The word must be spoken aloud & be the first word said in the month. It brings luck for that month'
5) Theory D: It was a common belief among WW2 RAF bomber aircrew that saying "white rabbits" upon waking would protect them.
6) Theory E: According to playground rules, your pinch & punch has to be followed immediately with the words, "White rabbits, no return" meaning that you can't be pinched back.

Whilst researching a feature on haunted places I came across these motoring laws. Am not sure if it's down to old-fashioned rules that never got updated or logistical challenges unique to a country.

Costa Rica🇨🇷You’re allowed to drink alcoholic while driving although you will be fined if caught drunk.

1. By the year 2050, UK households will be ultra-sonically blasting their clothes clean, using waterless dishwashers & eating bugs for dinner, according to experts. Futurologist, Dr James Bellini, also predicts households are likely to be using drones to restock the fridge.
2. Other predictions are kitchens that will operate almost entirely without water, using ultrasonic waves to power dishwashers & washing machines that will pulverise dirt. A study found adults believe self-stocking smart fridges will be the most useful piece of tech to come.
3. Smart kettles and advanced apps to help with waste management are other ways they are planning to move to more advanced technology in years to come. The research found one in five believe robots will be helping out with housekeeping in the majority of homes by the year 2050.
