I’m 15. My friends started binding their breasts and self-harming, and mainstream media and TikTok told them it was normal. I’m afraid to speak out in real life because of cancel culture and stigma, but I believe in women-only spaces XX
So…this got a lot more attention than I thought it would! Wow. Thanks for all the kind comments and advice- I’m jumping offline now, but I really appreciate it 💜🤍💚
@MForstater I’m pinching myself that you saw this - I love you! Thank you for all that you do and have done, what an inspiration for young women like me 💜🤍💚
A few people on here have been saying things like “no 15-year-old writes like this” and saying you can “tell” because I end my grateful replies with “xx”. To be honest, I don’t really care how old you think I am - I know I’m 15, and it’s given me a laugh 1/X
to see people saying that I have “Gen X lingo” or suggesting that I’m actually Maya Forstater. On a more serious note, I find it interesting that instead of engaging with what I have to say, these accounts brand it as “FAKE” while giving backhanded 2/X
compliments about my writing style and ability. Is it so impossible that a 15-year-old would disagree with things that harm her sex? Why is it that teenagers who agree with you aren’t “too young”? Finally, I end with xx as a tribute to the XX chromosomes X/X
