Gretchen Whitmer is putting up a false front that she cares about MI students. In reality, she contributed to the dramatic decline of reading and subject proficiency scores in our state. Here’s how she failed MI students🧵
Gretchen Whitmer ordered all schools to close, locking students out of classrooms and away from success.

After the MI Supreme Court deemed she could no longer issue executive orders to close schools, Whitmer said she ‘disagreed’ with the ruling. bridgemi.com/michigan-gover…
Then, in April of 2021, Whitmer announced during a press conference that she wanted schools to close again, without any warning or communication to the schools.

Whitmer catered to union bosses, ignoring the impacts on students and parents. detroitnews.com/story/news/edu…
Then in June of 2021, Whitmer vetoed reading scholarships for students that struggled to read.
Fast forward to last week’s report that 58.4% of third-grade students failed the English Language Arts portion of the M-STEP.

Third graders in Michigan are struggling to read and Gretchen Whitmer denied resources to students that would benefit from a reading tutor.
The #DixonHernandez administration will put students and parents first. We will ensure every child can read and not accept excuses from Big Education for declining achievement.

Crime is on the rise in Gretchen Whitmer’s Michigan. Communities are less safe since Whitmer refused to side with the brave men and women that protect MI families every day. Here’s a look at how Whitmer’s lockdowns and support for defunding police caused violent crime to spike 🧵 Image
Gretchen Whitmer declared she supported defunding police on June 9, 2020, just months after she deemed many Michiganders “non-essential” and threw them out of work. It was a recipe for what countless residents are experiencing today.
When people were told they were “non-essential” and could not work, residents grew desperate to get their hands on anything of value just to survive.
