Then, in April of 2021, Whitmer announced during a press conference that she wanted schools to close again, without any warning or communication to the schools.
Then in June of 2021, Whitmer vetoed reading scholarships for students that struggled to read.
Fast forward to last week’s report that 58.4% of third-grade students failed the English Language Arts portion of the M-STEP.
