Today, on #TeachersDay I am glad to announce a new initiative - the development and upgradation of 14,500 schools across India under the Pradhan Mantri Schools For Rising India (PM-SHRI) Yojana. These will become model schools which will encapsulate the full spirit of NEP.
The PM-SHRI schools will have a modern, transformational and holistic method of imparting education. Emphasis will be on a discovery oriented, learning centric way of teaching. Focus will also be on modern infra including latest technology, smart classrooms, sports and more.
The National Education Policy has transformed the education sector in the recent years. I am certain that the PM-SHRI schools will further benefit lakhs of students across India in the spirit of NEP.

Today’s #AatmanirbharBharatKaBudget brings with it new energy and strength to our development trajectory, especially at a time when we are courageously fighting a once-in-a-lifetime global pandemic. This Budget brings more infra, more investment, more growth and more jobs.
People from all walks of life have welcomed the #AatmanirbharBharatKaBudget. The youth of India see this Budget as one that will give wings to their ambitions. The emphasis on futuristic technologies in all spheres is noteworthy and will benefit a cross section of our citizens.
This year’s Budget caters to the development needs of people in remote areas, hill states and those states on the banks of the Ganga. This is in line with our focus on all-round and inclusive development.
When the COVID-19 pandemic first struck, we did not know much about the virus. However, our scientists and innovators immersed themselves in developing vaccines.
India feels proud that our nation has been able to contribute to fighting the pandemic through vaccines.
At the same time, the role of our doctors, nurses and healthcare workers is exceptional. When we see glimpses of people being vaccinated in remote areas, or our healthcare workers taking the vaccines there, our hearts and minds are filled with pride.
In a meeting with Chief Ministers, reviewed aspects relating to COVID-19 and vaccination.
Chief Ministers spoke about the situation in their respective states with regard to the pandemic, especially the Omicron variant that is spreading rapidly.
The Central Government is continuously keeping a track of the situation. We are also working with the states with a pre-emptive, pro-active and
collective approach.
All of us have to continue taking all possible precautions and remain as alert.
At the same time, the nation’s health infrastructure is being continuously augmented. The progress being made by our nation on the vaccination front can be seen.
Vaccines and masks remain among the strongest weapons against the pandemic.
I have been privileged to receive the utmost love and affection from our Bhutanese brother and sisters, and take this occasion to convey my greetings to all of them on the auspicious occasion of the National Day of Bhutan.
I admire Bhutan for its unique model of sustainable development and the deeply spiritual way of life. Successive Druk Gyalpos - Their Majesties the Kings - have given a unique identity to the Kingdom, and nurtured the special bond of neigbhourly friendship that our nations share.
