I know everyone is being nice about #NY10 and focusing on Dan Goldman buying the seat, which is true, but we would have another squad member in Congress no matter how much he spent if @CarlinaRivera and @MondaireJones chose our families over a blip in their careers. Let us learn.

We would have had a fighter for working people in Congress if firms like @BerlinRosen didn't invade left spaces, suck up left talent and knowhow, to use it against us. To promote division for their profit. To put us in danger for their profit.

We would have had someone championing transformational change in Congress if the NYTIMES ownership wasn't in cahoots with the silver spoon sons of their friends and families to rig their own endorsement process.

Some of you have to play all this down to continue working and passing good legislation, which I get. I don't. I'm independent 100% of that and I and others can make sure we repeat it so much that it's never rewritten.

That we build process and agreements as the left on when and how to coalesce. And build in COSTS to not doing so.

That we uninvite greedy equity firms like @BerlinRosen from selling our democracy for its parts, using and abusing the most talented among us to do so.

That we question building the power of the NYTIMES when they do endorse our candidates, that we figure out how to use it, if to use it, and what it means to use it to our movements in the future. We empower them. And their owners will always betray us when it matters.

Everything Yuh-Line supporters said came true. And there have been no apologies. And even a very unapologetic and selfish "no regrets" from @CarlinaRivera, who I once campaigned and volunteered for. Who turned our energy and sacrifice for her into phone calls to GOP billionaires.

People make mistakes. I know I have. I hope we learn from these mistakes and remind ourselves electoral politics is not about careers but about a fight for the soul of this country at its most critical moment.
