The best part of an Indian wedding is most definitely the food.

Ask any Mumbaikar and they’ll tell you that attending a #Parsi wedding is on the top of their bucket list.

Here’s a glimpse of what awaits you🧵👇
1/8

Clean your banana leaf and order a blood red Dukes/Pallonji’s Raspberry or a bright green Ginger Soda.

Give the coke a skip.

Take a sip, settle in. The feast is about to begin.
2/8

It’s time for Achaar - a deliciously sweet, sour and spicy carrot and raisin pickle.

Eat some with the warm roti.
Eat some more with the crispy Sariya (fried Sago wafers).

The Sariya guy will come again. Take a second serving for later. 👇
3/8

Love fried chicken? You’re going to love our Chicken Farcha.

A whole chicken leg, marinated in 7 secret spices that will put the old KFC colonel to shame. Dipped in semolina, egg and deep fried.

Crispy on the outside, deliciously tender on the inside. 👇
4/8

Grab more roti. Dig into the Salli Boti

Succulent goat meat cooked in a thick, sweet sour spicy tomato gravy. Topped with crispy potato straws.

You’ll want to slow down and savor it but quick, the next course is already on the way!
5/8

It’s time for the fish. Which fish dish will the couple have chosen?

Is it the sweet and sour Saas ni Machi (fish in white sauce) or the Patra ni Machi (fish coated in Chutney and steamed in a banana leaf)?

Careful, the photographer might capture your gluttony on camera.👇
6/8

Your tummy may be full but it’s time to dig deep.

Here comes the Mutton Pulao & Masala Dahl. Whole leg of lamb marinated and cooked with rice and potato, a dollop of spicy lentils on top.

You’ll be forgiven if you skip the rice but you MUST eat the potato.
7/8

You gaze up from the food frenzy & see another small plate!

Don’t give up just yet. You’ve reached the final course, the Lagan (wedding) nu Custard.

A British-y custard with nuts, vanilla, caradamom & nutmeg.

Take just one bite. it’s silken sweetness will call you back.👇
8/8

The caterer is here to ask if you’d like something more. Some fried fish perhaps? A side of egg? Another Custard?

You’re so full, you can’t move.

A crowds gathered behind your chair.

Chalni Dikra, if you’re done eating, you need to move. 🤤
TL;DR If you’re invited to a #Parsi wedding, say yes cz here’s the feast that awaits

• Dukes Raspberry Soda
• Sariya, Roti & Achaar
• Chicken Farcha
• Salli Boti
