I’ve had conversations with Black Americans where they threw tantrums and called me anti-black for telling them (the truth) that there are many segments of Africans, who have far more in common with white people eg the British elite, than they do with them.

I hope they can see.
I actually gave up having such conversations with Americans because they were never interested in hearing any reality that differs from their automatic “white bad, black good” ideology, and their expectation that all ✌🏾 melanated ✌🏾 people should feel the same way.

Waste of time
Whenever I tried to explain this to them, they just start shouting anti-black, coon, Uncle Tom, bed wench for Massa etc.

It’s unfortunate because they don’t realise that they don’t see Africans as the varied, diverse people we are.

Instead it’s just a one dimensional flat idea.

People on the internet are refusing to accept that this is how a lot of Africans feel about the Queen of the United Kingdom (the same way there are lots of Africans who can’t stand her and see her and her legacy for the colonisation it is)

But it’s very true for lots of Africans
This is why we’re constantly getting into ideological conflicts with certain western black people because the popular ideas in their media will have you glossing over the fact that Africans generally love monarchies, and would happily be as oppressive as the current monarchies.
Just because we lost the colonial battles and we were the losers of this round of colonisation / oppression doesn’t mean we wouldn’t happily (we the roles reversed) rule over a colonial empire made up of our defeated subjects across the globe.

Lots of Africans happily would.

So my thoughts on the LAMDA artificial intelligence at Google and the software engineer Lemoine who went rogue because he was convinced it was sentient.

We may never know if at some future point, AI become sentient, but it doesn’t matter.

All AI need to do is convince a human.
And the Lemoine guy is a software engineer at Google, and he was convinced.

Yes he’s one person, but many others in the general public can equally be convinced

The problem is that it’s the convincing humans that induces humans to change their behaviour for the benefit of the AI
The damn AI may not even be alive or sentient or conscious or whatever, but the second a certain number of human beings are “convinced” it is?

They’ll become a stumbling block to other human beings and they may even do things against the best interest of other human beings.

Black Americans will be blatantly rude to Africans in casual conversations where no disagreement need occur then act shocked when we conclude they are rude, uncouth people and avoid associating with them.

Almost every social setting conversation with them has been negative. Ugh.
It’s so tiring.

How can some people be so committed to unnecessary rudeness so consistently?

When you see their gathering and you predict it is going to end in a rude interaction, you are supposedly prejudiced.

When you ignore your instincts and go ahead, you are proven right.
If you now decide to actively avoid them and just keep to yourself, they will accuse you of racism, white supremacy, anti blackness or some other nonsense.

No.

You are just rude people and I don’t hate you but I hate your behaviour, and I have a right to avoid it for peace sake

Aminu Dantata and all that jazz aside.

I remember a conversation about gender where I was trying to explain to some westerners, that deciding identity based on behaviour is nonsensical because for eg, Nigerian men have effeminate behaviour like curtsying.
This video is a really good demonstration.

Multiple powerful Nigerian men are curtsying because of a difference in class, wealth, and power.

Based solely on this behaviour, gender identitarians would categorise them as women.

This is why rules based on gender are nonsensical.
And I guarantee you, if let’s say Queen Elizabeth was healthy enough to see visitors, and she was in a room with all of the men in this video, ALL OF THEM (including the man they are all curtsying to now) would curtsy to her.

Even though curtsying is FEMININE in British culture.
