Engr. @wabote_simbi (FNSE, FIPS) in his keynote address welcomed all to the auspicious occasion marking the Graduation Ceremony of the GSM phone repair, Software & Entrepreneurship Dev. training for 1,000 youths in Cross River State under the Board's Youth Empowerment Programme.
This training is the Sixth of its kind having conducted similar interventions in Kano, Kaduna, Cross River (phase1), Bauchi and Yobe States, impacting 3,900 youths.
The Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act setting up NCDMB requires that we develop talents, facilities and assets supporting oil and gas operations and its linkage sectors. Engr. @wabote_simbi noted.
Pursuant to our mandate & in line with @MBuhari's commitment to empower youths & position them as leading contributors to national dev, we designed our youth empowerment program to provide lifelong support to youths that desire to be empowered in high impact economic sectors.

He added that “Today's event further amplifies Nigerian Content outreach to all Nigerians irrespective of state of origin or residence. I'll soon be commissioning a similar intervention in Bayelsa & Oyo states to expand the frontiers of youth empowerment & entrepreneurship dev.”
The ES finally congratulated all the participants, saying that it is their responsibility to use the skills acquired to make a living for themselves and contribute positively to the development of their communities and our dear country.
Prof. Florence Banku Obi, Vice Chancellor, Univ of Calabar in her goodwill message highlighted that gaining useful skills and becoming entrepreneurs is the peak of education. She encouraged the graduants to be ready for the next phase which is the real life phase of the training.
The facilitator, Rt. Hon. Legor Idagbo, Member Rep. Bekwarra/Obudu/Obanliku Fed. Constituency in the House of Reps & Chairman, Nigerian Content Development & Monitoring Committee, in his goodwill message expressed gratitude to Engr. @wabote_simbi & the Board for the training.
He urged the graduands to make the best out of the training and become successful entrepreneurs by applying all the acquired knowledge and skills.
The Executive Governor, Cross River state, Sen (Prof) Ben Ayade rep by the Deputy Governor, Prof Ivara Ejemot Esu in his goodwill message congratulated the graduands & encouraged them to come forward for support if & where necessary as the state is ready to open its doors to them
The Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Eteng Jonah Williams, while thanking the Board for the training, in his goodwill message, advised the entrepreneurs to be good examples to others as this acquired skill will always separate them from the crowd.
The GM, Research, Statistics & Development, NCDMB, Mr Abdulmalik Halilu in his vote of thanks said the Board will continue to initiate sustainable policies and trainings to build capacities that are in line with its mandate.

The Executive Secretary NCDMB, Engr. Kesiye Wabote (@wabote_simbi FNSE, FIPS) a few moments ago received the Champion of Local Content Development in Africa Award at the inaugural Heritage Concert & Awards held Kigali, Rwanda.
Speaking after he received the award, Engr @wabote_simbi dedicated the award to his family and the hard working staff of the Board. He hailed the organizers of the African Heritage Concert and Award, describing the award as a stepping stone to the African continent’s development.
He hinted that the award challenges him to continue looking beyond Nigeria, to see how local content can be developed across Africa.

The Nigerian oil and gas industry suppliers' tax awareness workshop is a continuation of a series of oil and gas industry supplier development interventions, leveraging provisions of Finance Act 2021 and other existing tax codes as it relates to Research and Development.
The purpose of the workshop is to provide a platform to engage oil and gas industry stakeholders on tax incentives available to Nigerian companies that invest in Research and Development.
The NCDMB held the Cross River leg of the one-day sensitization workshop on the Board's Community Content Guidelines (CCG) for contractors, youths, and members of host communities in Calabar, yesterday, Saturday 25th March 2023.
The ES, #NCDMB, Engr. @wabote_simbi (FNSE, FIPS), who was represented by the GM, CC/ZC, Dr. Ginah O. Ginah (FNSE) at the workshop, noted that it was aimed at enlightening contractors, youths and other stakeholders on the mandate of the Board and the importance of the CCG.
The Board’s CCG is intended to facilitate the effective participation of citizens of oil-producing communities in oil and gas operations. He added that in the CCG, a Host Community is defined as the community where oil & gas operations/projects take place.

In her welcome address, APWEN President Engr. Dr. Elizabeth Jumoke Eterigho (FNSE, FNSChE) urged schools to continue to support and encourage girls to pursue careers in engineering.
