45 days remain on zkSync 2.0’s #marchtomainnet and the next major milestone on our roadmap is Proof Merging. Initial details on what this milestone will include 🧵 (1/5)
The Proof Merging milestone is what many development teams have been waiting for: Zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs to record the validity of transaction blocks on Ethereum.
(2/5)
In this milestone, we will add circuits’ witness generation for L2 blocks, integrate the prover to the current running system, and add proof verification to our L1 contract.
(3/5)
The integration of validity proofs into zkSync 2.0’s main server is the missing piece that will make zkSync 2.0 the first end-to-end, complete zkEVM-based zkRollup.
(4/5)
The completion of this milestone will be a major achievement that advances the evolution and future of scaling Ethereum. Additional details on timing will be available soon.

46 Days to zkSync 2.0 on mainnet, and the dream of the first zkEVM zkRollup is getting closer and closer. Each week, we’re highlighting five more exciting stories from our growing ecosystem as we build towards mainnet. #jointhemission
🧵(1/7)
@hackenclub brought their cybersecurity auditing products to zkSync. zkSync 2.0 is built to scale Ethereum’s security with zero compromises, and Hacken’s arrival brings further security benefits and peace of mind to our growing ecosystem.
As the most Ethereum-aligned L2, zkSync will continue to evolve with the Ethereum ecosystem. Here's how the Merge will affect zkSync: medium.com/matter-labs/th….
A summary 🧵
(1/6)
How the Merge Affects zkSync v1
About 1 hour before the Merge, we’ll suspend activity on zkSync v1. Once the Merge is complete, we’ll run a series of tests before bringing the system back online.
If you have funds on zkSync v1, they'll be secure. No action is required.

How the Merge Affects zkSync v1 (cont’d)
We expect a downtime of approximately 1 hour, but we'll be especially cautious given the consequences of a potential issue so an extended downtime is possible.
66 days to zkSync 2.0 on mainnet. The Dynamic Fees Milestone will be introduced with a regenesis on August 30, 2022. This takes us one step closer on our #marchtomainnet and our mission to scale Ethereum’s values and security.
🧵 (1/4)
For a recap on what is included in this milestone:
Friendly reminder: Regenesis will reset transaction history, token balances, and require developers to redeploy contracts. This only applies to zkSync 2.0 testnet and will not affect zkSync 1.0.
67 Days to zkSync 2.0 on mainnet. It’s been a long road to the first production zkEVM solution, and we’re overjoyed at the number of projects launching with us. We can’t mention them all, but today we’re highlighting 5 projects from our growing ecosystem. #jointhemission
🧵(1/7)
@PhezzanProtocol became the first perpetual DEX on zkSync 2.0 testnet, and explained how easy it is to get started.
73 days to zkSync 2.0 on mainnet. The next roadmap milestone is Dynamic Fees and today we’re releasing a definition of what it’ll include. Next week we’ll release the exact date. Heads up to developers on testnet, this release will be a regenesis event. #marchtomainnet
🧵 (1/7)
Dynamic Fees
Today, all transactions on zkSync 2.0 testnet cost a fee that's independent of transaction logic & respective L1 cost. Our new fee model is similar to Ethereum's with L2-specific modifications. Each transaction will be priced based on the resources consumed.

To differentiate from the standard “gas,” our measurement unit is called “ergs.”
Ergs pay for:
1. Transaction execution & proof generation 2. L1 storage use 3. Proof verification on L1 4. Additional L1 interactions
74 Days to zkSync 2.0 on mainnet. With the dream of a zkEVM solution for the @ethereum community becoming a reality, we’ve seen a wave of projects launching on zkSync 2.0. Every Monday, we’ll be highlighting some of the members of our growing ecosystem. #jointhemission

@ethereum@MESprotocol launched their orderbook-based DEX to zkSync 2.0 Testnet. The project, built on zk-rollups, allows users in our ecosystem to enjoy a CEX trading experience. Check out their journey to joining zkSync below.
@ethereum@MESprotocol@MultichainOrg (previously Anyswap) announced their integration with zkSync to bring cost-efficient and safe bridging of assets, NFTs, and messages to the platform.
