(1) A 911 call got lost & a 69 yr old man died waiting for DC 911 to find it. It took 3 calls & 11 mins before help was sent. Last month, a call was lost for 8 mins when an infant died. Just 2 of the 6 people to die in DC this year whose final moments involved 911 mistakes.(more)
(2) Last week, @MayorBowser called out "some people who are reporting on OUC". She says they're cherry-picking these bad stories from all the good DC 911 does. She claims they're only interested in mistakes at OUC & with its acting director & not mistakes in other people. (more)
(3) If you're in charge, it's natural to be upset with a reporter who uncovered mistakes surrounding 10 deaths in 3 years. But is the problem really with the reporters & reporting or is it how the 911 center is managed? (more)
(4) Read more about the latest DC 911 mistake and the death of Jesse Kyle here. statter911.com/2022/09/13/new…
(5) Whether you think it's cherry picking or holding government accountable please remember the 10 people over the last three years whose final moments were met with delays & confusion by DC 911.

(1) Yes @ClohertyWTOP. Anytime I work on a DC 911 story I think of Maria Shepperd. She was 13 years old when she called 911, did CPR on her mom & was told help was on the way. It wasn't. 2 years later & the city's handling & reaction to the latest incidents seem to rhyme. (more) Image
(2) Despite 5 months of the city refusing to talk about @OUC_DC sending @dcfireems to the wrong address, @MayorBowser was not prepared to answer questions about the Shepperd case when @RamirezReports & @SegravesNBC4 questioned her after @Comm_Daily unearthed the 911 call. (more)
(3) Sheila Shepperd's June 2020 death was the 4th in less than a year. Now we are on number 10 in 3 years. Here's what's sill the same about these major @OUC_DC issues (besides @MayorBowser not being well briefed about a death where there was a significant 911 delay): (more) Image

(1) Despite the 5th death in 6 months where there were DC 911 delays @MayorBowser isn't issuing apologies or even acknowledging what happened. She's again making the reporter the issue. That's okay. I'm fair game. (more) @Janeese4DC @charlesallen @ODCA_DC Image
(2) Watch: "If you had Dave Statter that was trying to drive out another director, or pick a director in Arlington or Prince George's, you would find an equal number of instances where people have questions. I have no doubt about it." (more)
(3) Watch: @MayorBowser also told @MarielCarbone of @DCNewsNow: "When people call 911 often times they are very sick and sometimes there is nothing we can do to help." (more)

@tomsherwood @VSPPIO @ArlingtonVaFD @VaDOTNOVA @ARLnowDOTcom @politicshour (1) @VaDOTNOVA is making a series of changes that will & has reduced the numbers but my observation from watching this for a while is that short of getting rid of the S curve with a left exit at the end of it the problem isn't going anywhere. Most of it is driver behavior. (more)
@tomsherwood @VSPPIO @ArlingtonVaFD @VaDOTNOVA @ARLnowDOTcom @politicshour (2) We have so many selfish drivers who think they don't share the road with anyone else. They think nothing of making a left turn on an interstate highway to get to their exit rather than go to the next one. (more)
@tomsherwood @VSPPIO @ArlingtonVaFD @VaDOTNOVA @ARLnowDOTcom @politicshour (3) Adding flex posts to the gore has reduced numbers but I see drivers make the move constantly. The remake of the Boundary Channel exit this yr will also reduce the amount doing it but there are plenty coming from before then (DC, GW Pkway) who wait until the last second (more)

(1) NEW: Here's proof @OUC_DC's Karima Holmes's ridiculous stat meant to downplay DC 911 errors isn't factual. She told @Nnamdikid & @tomsherwood, "There were 7 mistakes of addresses in the last 3 yrs." Here are 8 in 10 months. Wait until you learn the source of this info (more) Image
(2) LISTEN: Before I tell you the source of the data first hear what Karima Holmes said -- in context -- on Friday's @politicshour. Holmes was making the same case @MayorBowser made a day earlier comparing the number of mistakes to the large volume of 911 calls. (more)
(3) As for the grid, it came directly from @OUC_DC in 2020 when Karima Holmes was in charge. Each of these 8 incidents involves an address mistake. @Comm_Daily got the grid thru a FOIA request. This is far from the first time @OUC_DC under Holmes shared questionable stats. (more) Image

(1) Today I would have been participating in @DC_HSEMA's Interoperability Summit on Air Florida but @MayorBowser's administration dropped me from the event due to my @OUC_DC reporting. Here's some of what I would have shared. (more)
statter911.com/2022/01/13/35-…
(2) I have no doubt my former fellow panelists did a superb job. The only thing that bothers me from this experience is the official statement from @DC_HSEMA's @GabeLugoPIO making up a story for my departure in an attempt to cover their tracks. (more) ImageImage
(3) Here's the worst part: Despite helping @DC_HSEMA over many months & accepting their invitation to be on the panel, neither @GabeLugoPIO or Director Dr. Christopher Rodriguez have responded to or even acknowledged my texts, email & phone calls about their statement. (more)

(1) NEW: @OUC_DC confirms DC 911 sent @dcfireems to the wrong address for an EMS call at the @EPA Building last week. Radio traffic shows it was 10-minutes before the error was corrected. Listen in the next tweet. Here's OUC's statement: (more) @CMLewisGeorgeW4 @charlesallen
(2) LISTEN: The call, for someone suffering a hemorrhage, was dispatched to 1301 Connecticut Avenue, NW. While the dispatcher didn't say it on the radio the call-taker's notes discovered by Truck 9 show the call was at the @EPA building which is 1301 Constitution Avenue, NW(more)
(3) Approximately ten minutes were lost between dispatching @dcfireems to the wrong address on Connecticut Avenue & dispatching different units to the correct address on Constitution Avenue. The buildings are about 1.5 miles apart. (more)
