For those brave enough to endure #thequeue, here's thread of some of the many film locations you can find along the way, starting at the Bermondsey end. #QueueForTheQueen #filmlocations #filmlondon
First up we have apartment which John Cleese's Archie Leach "borrows" in A Fish Called Wanda (1988) near Bermondsey Wall West with the entrance at St. Saviour's Dock (the route unfortunately only goes round the back of the buildings). ImageImage
St. Saviour's Dock also appears 11 years later as part of the famous Thames boat chase in James Bond film The World is not Enough (1999). Image
On the other side of the dock, you will come to Cantina Del Ponte where Bridget and Daniel have their first date in Bridget Jones's Diary (2001), followed by Shad Thames where they have their first kiss. More on Bridget Jones later... ImageImage
This same part of Shad Thames and the adjoining Lafone Street also doubles for the seedy backstreets of New York on Highlander (1986). No, really. ImageImage
Passing under Tower Bridge you will find yourself in a winding queue through Potters Fields Park, where CIA agents on Hunt's tail arrive in London in Mission: Impossible (1996). This is the first of several M:I locations along the route. Image
You will then find yourself passing the previous City Hall building at 110 Queen's Walk, where the top floor featured in Love Actually (2003) and Spectre (2015), doubling for Tokyo along with its spiral staircase. ImageImageImageImage
Continuing along the aptly named Queen's Walk, you will find the spot where Bridget and Darcy having their falling out after the law council dinner, from Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (2004). ImageImage
Moving much further up the river, just past the Golden Hinde, you will come to Pickford's Wharf/Clink Street which was redressed as a dead-end alleyway for the intense climax of An American Werewolf in London (1981). ImageImageImage
Further down Clink Street you will find Daniel's home from Bridget Jones's Diary (2001). (If anyone can confirm if the interiors were also shot here it would be most appreciated!) Image
Immediately after passing under Cannon Street Railway Bridge, you will come to The Anchor pub where Ethan and Luther share a post-mission pint at the end of Mission: Impossible (1996). Image
Further along you will come to the Millennium Bridge. Whilst a CGI version was featured in Harry Potter 6, the actual physical bridge can be seen in a deleted scene from Love Actually (2003) and as part of Xandar in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) (I believe at the north end). ImageImage
The Tate Modern has also seen a handful of films shot in and around the building; including Patriot Games (1992); Children of Men (2006); Juliet, Naked and Mission: Impossible - Fallout (both 2018). ImageImageImageImage
Speaking of Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018), it is along this bit of the Thames path that we get the final part of the London foot chase. ImageImageImageImage
Next up, we have the OXO Tower, beneath which some brief scenes (including a deleted one) from Love Actually (2003) were filmed and inside the building is the restaurant where Jane's date is interrupted in Thor: The Dark World (2013). ImageImageImageImage
Liam Neeson and Thomas Brodie-Sangster get one scene together on the South Bank in the finished film of Love Actually (2003) just off Gabriel's Wharf. ImageImage
Continuing along the South Bank to Waterloo Bridge you will encounter a variety of spots where Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson did many a scene in Last Chance Harvey (2008). ImageImageImageImage
And the other side of Waterloo Bridge you can find the spot where Charles professes his love to Carrie in Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994). ImageImage
After passing the London Eye, you will come to the entrance to County Hall on Belvedere Road as seen in Mission: Impossible (1996), Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (2004) and even Kick-Ass (2010). ImageImageImageImage
Further down on your right you will find what was Yo Sushi (now Westminster Kitchen Grill House, I believe) in the spy-comedy Johnny English (2003). ImageImage
Speaking of Johnny English, the Marriott Hotel County Hall entrance on Westminster Bridge Road also doubles for fancy hotel on the French Riviera in Johnny English Strikes Again (2018). Interiors for MI7 were also filmed at the hotel. ImageImageImageImage
Using the steps back down to the river, you will be stepping in the footsteps of James Bond at the climax of Spectre (2015). ImageImage
In keeping with the spy-movie theme the walk has now taken on, the second bench you come to is the one where Ilsa meets up with Atlee at the start of Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation's (2015). Image
With its view of the Houses of Parliament, the northeast corner of Lambeth Bridge by Lambeth Palace has been seen in a multitude of films but which I don't seem to have screen-caps for🤦‍♂️Instead lets look across the road to the Garden Museum as seen in The Omen (1976). ImageImage
Then we come to Lambeth Bridge, used in many establishing shots but my personal favourite would be its appearance in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004). Image
Having reached the other side, you will find yourself in another briefly seen Bond location, again from Spectre (2015). Image
Shortly before arriving at Westminster Palace, you will pass Great College Street which featured in Johnny English (2003) and The Foreigner (2017). ImageImageImage
And finally, now inside Westminster Hall (and I realise this is not why you are here) which was recently seen in Darkest Hour (2017) - a rare moment in which the interior of the Palace of Westminster is seen on screen. Image
If you have made it this far, let me know which locations I have missed out. Also if you would like to explore more of London's film locations, check out my Comic Book Movie Walking Tour. airbnb.co.uk/experiences/37…
