A thread: Amazon is very desperate to make #RingsOfPowerOnPrime a success, even though it is trending towards being a complete flop.
We've all seen the ridiculous "activism" and faux outrage from the cast at the fictitious notion that people don't like the show because they (the audience) are 'racist'. However, I believe a more sinister aspect of Amazons PR has gone widely unnoticed.
First I would like to point out to all of you that Amazon changed the time at which episodes will premiere after the show debuted. This was done to inflate premiere viewership numbers.
You see, tv viewership numbers are calculated daily. Meaning that in order to max out their viewership numbers and to justify the massive budget, Amazon are giving themselves a 24-hour window to garnish as many views as possible so that they can count those as "premiere" numbers.
We've seen Amazon use this kind of tactic before, with this very show. Remember when they premiered the show in theatres prior to its Prime release? It took place in over 200 theaters and tickets were given out for free.
This undoubtedly was an attempt by Amazon to fluff the numbers for the shows premiere, presumably because Amazon Studios looked at what they were going to release and the pre-release backlash and said "oh shit"
Ignore the outrage mobs and attempts to turn commentary on this show into social commentary about the world at large. Pay attention to what Amazon does when it comes to the numbers. Pay attention to their business actions when it comes to this show.
The outrage PR is just a stunt meant to distract people who are justifiably upset by this show and voicing their grievances. Transactions, release times, viewership counts, all of these things are much more important.
Chances are the show tanks, unless by some miracle they get MUCH better show writers in and completely circumvent what they've created so far. If it gets prematurely cancelled, pay attention to the numbers.
The "you're all racist" angle didn't work. They'll need another scapegoat. Look to them blaming other shows in the same release timeslots for "stealing" viewers. They also may blame other competing streaming services. It's all about the numbers.

A thread: I would like to address the people who are still enjoying #RingsOfPower, in a good faith effort to open their eyes to how bad the show really is. To do this, I will showcase the shows biggest flaws. Structure and establishment.
You see, in any good linear story that results in a definitive conclusion, you need to in the first episode, maybe 2, establish and solidify the premise of the story and the characters motivations.
In Rings of Power, through the 1st 3 episodes, the show does a terrible job of establishing a premise and character motivations. We have 6-7 different plotlines, with only 2 somewhat connected, and the only real setup for the show is "evil exists".
