The tweets in this section of our thread are offered for reflection in preparation for praying the Rosary.

In the Name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Sts. Cornelius & Cyprian, pray for us!

1 Unto the end, in verses, a psalm for David, for the octave. O Lord, rebuke me not in thy indignation, nor chastise me in thy wrath.

2 Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am weak: heal me, O Lord, for my bones are troubled.

Art: Pope Cornelius by Master of Messkirch
3 And my soul is troubled exceedingly: but thou, O Lord, how long?

4 Turn to me, O Lord, and deliver my soul: O save me for thy mercy's sake.

Art: St Cyprian by Master of Messkirch
5 For there is no one in death, that is mindful of thee: and who shall confess to thee in hell?

6 I have laboured in my groanings, every night I will wash my bed: I will water my couch with my tears.

Photo: Pilgrim's Badge, Saint Cornelius, Met Museum.
7 My eye is troubled through indignation: I have grown old amongst all my enemies.

8 Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity: for the Lord hath heard the voice of my weeping.

9 The Lord hath heard my supplication: the Lord hath received my prayer.

10 Let all my enemies be ashamed, and be very much troubled: let them be turned back, and be ashamed very speedily.

—Psalm 6, Douay-Rheims Bible, public domain.

Art: David Composing the Psalm, Illum. Ms.
In the Name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Some prayer intentions (these are my personal ones, feel free to add your own, too).
- For James: Please keep him, and all children who suffer from serious illness or disease, in your prayers.

- For @KatieCScott: her 7-month-old may have a pretty scary neurological diagnosis — we will find out more soon. If inclined, please offer a prayer for Ignatius.

The Rosary proper begins at the top of the hour. I hope you’ll join me.
In the Name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, you have deigned to come to Fatima to reveal to the three shepherd children there the treasures of grace hidden…

(There’s a place in this prayer for your personal prayer intention.)
(For those who don’t believe, we pray…)

I believe in God,
the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.

And in Jesus Christ,
His only Son, our Lord…
For the Holy Father

Our Father Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us…
For an increase of Faith, Hope, & Charity in our souls & our world

Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women
& blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus…. (3x)
(Glory be, here and at the end of each decade.)

Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen.
We’ll be using some special intentions from the USCCB. These are optional (and they’re similar to the ones we were using from Pope St. John Paul II).

Tonight’s Preparation thread may be a bit long. You are encouaraged to use part of it now, and part of it later, or skip it all, if you like. This is true for the #RosaryProject in general. Use what you want, skip the rest. I hope you find some of it, at least, useful. Image
