Nazi sympathizer and Jan. 6 rioter who claimed he didn't know Congress met at Capitol to be sentenced Thursday nbcnews.com/politics/justi…
Prosecutors said Hale-Cusanelli “subscribes to White Supremacist and Nazi-Sympathizer ideologies that drive his enthusiasm for another civil war.” nbcnews.com/politics/justi…
“Hale-Cusanelli is, at best, extremely tolerant of violence and death,” prosecutors said. “What Hale-Cusanelli was doing on January 6 was not activism, it was the preamble to his civil war.”

“He just kept coming closer."

"I felt like they were gonna rush at any time.”

Capitol Police Officer Eugene Goodman testified as Doug Jensen's trial today. Story with @lizbrownkaiser:

Can confirm that Officer Eugene Goodman's socks were once again on-point during his testimony.
Two days after the Jan. 6 attack, Jensen explained to the FBI how he came to believe conspiracy theories about the election and a variety of topics, even asking special agents whether the Washington Monument was "supposed to be a giant penis."

As we await Eugene Goodman’s testimony in the Doug Jensen case, wanted to highlight some of the testimony from other Capitol Police officers in the trial of John Strand, Simone Gold’s boyfriend.
One officer who testified that he lost consciousness momentarily after he was crushed by the mob and pulled down right in front of Simone Gold and John Strand as rioters breached the east side of the Capitol on Jan. 6.
“I was terrified the rioters were going to get my gun and use it against other officers,” he testified.

He said he knew the importance of protecting members of Congress, because if violence stopped them from doing their jobs, “that’s not a democracy.”

Brian Jackson "has denounced his membership" with the White Knights, but can't afford to remove his tattoos, his defense claims.

"The tattoos were acquired in prison during his 15-year incarceration for a crime for which Mr. Jackson has paid his debt in full in prison."
"Mr. Jackson’s body, unfortunately, is covered with reminders of the sins of his past, and while his preference would be for those not to exist, he at this time cannot afford to rectify it."

His repeated use of the n-word in Jan. 6 messages? Lawyer says "not necessarily racist." ImageImage
"it appears that all the information that the government needed to charge Brian Jackson has been available to them for approximately one year."

That checks out based on current FBI backlog.
