DISTURBING: last night Kelly Neidert spoke at a True Texas Project meeting with Texas Scorecard publisher Michael Sullivan. When asked about funding, Neidert said they dont have "George Soros money." Ali Jamal, a Groyper who attends her events, said "We don't have Jew money."
Jamal is a reliable attendee at Neidert's anti-LGBTQ protests, which have also consistently featured Proud Boys and militia members. I saw Jamal with Neidert last weekend when another man they were with threatened me in front of a police officer.
I'm the only independent journalist focused on extremism based in north Texas, where there is no shortage of things for me to report. Consider supporting my work.
And if you're a journalist considering reporting on this deeply anti-Semitic episode involving Kelly Neidert, I would ask these publications what they think about her activities as of late.
One more thing: the man in the cowboy hat standing behind Kelly Neidert is not only a member of an extremist militia, but he was on the Don Huffines payroll.
Here's a photo from another event where Kelly Neidert spoke with Michael Sullivan of Texas Scorecard in Denton, Texas this evening. Last night, Neidert said she didn't take "Soros money," which her supporter Ali Jamal called "Jew money."
Check out another thread from a student journalist who was inside the True Texas Project event tonight in Denton featuring Kelly Neidert and Michael Sullivan. He noted the presence of a J6 participant who I saw at a "white lives matter" rally last year.
According to TEC records, the Huffines campaign paid Kyle Sims, a member of extremist militia This Is Texas Freedom Force, over $40K for campaign labor. Sources say Sims worked as a body man for the campaign. Sims was also seen alongside Proud Boys at an anti-LGBTQ protest.
Sims is a prolific activist, pictured with several high profile people like the Paxtons and Mike Lindell. He is active in a John Birch Society group on Facebook, and recently seen at events with Protect Texas Kids and True Texas Project, and spoke at a Frisco school board meeting
Sims is not the only member of TITFF with connections to elected officials that has shown up outside LGBTQ events in North Texas.
SCOOP: multiple sources tell me that a member of the FBI designed extremist militia This is Texas Freedom Force, Kyle Sims, worked for Don Huffines as a body man. Below are two photos. One of Sims standing next to Don Huffines, another of Sims standing next to a Proud Boy.
Kyle Sims is a busy man. I've seen him posting in John Birch Society groups on Facebook. Recently, he spread disinformation about a gun safety resolution at a north Texas school district with the help of Texas Scorecard.
Sims appears to be a well connected activist. He's shown up to several school board meetings in the area and multiple events organized by the leader of the anti-LGBTQ group led by Kelly Neidert, Protect Texas Kids.
In June, a group of Proud Boys and militia showed up outside the McKinney, TX library during a Pride themed storytime event. Proud Boys assaulted a man who filed a complaint with police on the scene. I just got the report after being stonewalled for months. It's very odd.
1/
This is the extent of the notes provided in the police report regarding the assault outside the McKinney library Pride event in June. The suspects are not described at all, despite there being a video of the altercation and numerous photos of the Proud Boys who did it.
2/
Here is the video of the assault that was reported. Despite this video being noted in the report, the Proud Boys are simply described as "suspects." I believe I have seen some of these same "suspects" at anti-LGBTQ protests in the area.
I do not know how to adequately express what is happening in Texas other than by saying that there are actual Nazis and other fascist groups like the Proud Boys participating in a pernicious and sustained harassment campaign against the LGBTQ community.
The recent sustained and pernicious harassment campaign against the LGBTQ community in Texas has been publicly led by groups like Protect Texas Kids and co-signed by mainstream politicians. Recently, the Texas GOP started singling out drag shows on its social media accounts.
NEW: After the anti-LGBTQ group Protect Texas Kids put out an alert last night to protest a Pride event in Plano Proud Boys and other anti-LGBTQ activists have answered the call. The founder of PTK called for the "rounding up" of people at Pride events. I'll be on the scene soon.
As has happened several times before, Kelly Neidert, the founder of Protect Texas Kids, is hanging outside a drag event with Proud Boys.
NOW: As I walked toward the entrance of the Pride event in Plano, Texas, I encountered a number of Proud Boys, a Groyper, and the leader of Protect Texas Kids. One man said in front of an officer "he will go to jail for my ass." The officer didn't consider that a threat.
