Goa is known for its nightlife. 🍸
In the last few months, I have felt so helpless, not being able to experience it fearlessly.
And it’s not just me, but every other woman traveller that I speak to.
Yesterday,we launched the #SafeSpaces Initiative with 10 bars in Goa, kicking it off with a bystander intervention training for their teams. Training them on how to be an active bystander and intervene the right way, when a woman at their space is feeling unsafe or uncomfortable
This is just the beginning. These spaces are committed to building a truly safe space for their women guests. Here’s a list of all the bars in Goa that are making this change happen and what they have to offer:
📍Hideaway
An espresso martini here is all you need. And did I mention? Their women’s washroom will break all the notions about dirty public washrooms.
📍Elephant & Co.
Punekars, your fav brand is also in Goa. Go here for the views, the food and the amazing hospitality.
📍Candy Shot Bar
Shots shot shots! And, so many of them. They have a two-page menu JUST with different types of shots. They’re queer friendly and have queer representation at the bar.
📍Escobar
Infused Feni, Goan Snacks - all the feels of an authentic vintage Goan bar.
📍Felix
Warmth of this Portuguese-style villa is something else. I personally always go for their brewed beers, when visiting.
📍Miguels
In a heritage building in Panjim, this place packs powerful cocktails and amaze food.
📍Ida
This women-run and women-owned place is an absolute delight. Great cocktails, greater vibes.
📍Flying Goat
Go here for their Jazz Gigs and their bookstore. It’s a cafe, bar & restaurant and 100% has my heart.
📍C’est La Vie
There is no better place for a sundowner. Period.
Right by the river, and oooh the breeze. 🤌
📍Vedro
Travel to Goa and then travel the world through their food and cocktails. Sure not to disappoint.
We can’t wait to scale this up across India. Here’s to having a #SafeSpace for all of us! 🥂
This post got a lot of love, as would a story about it that goes out into the world :) If you're engaged with a media body, here's how you can do your part - help us get this story out to the world so more bars come forward to get their staff trained and make their spaces safer.

I’ve been working around Goa for the last few months and here are some spots I’d definitely recommend if you’re planning a workation here. 💻
📍Felix, Anjuna
👩🏻💻They have a co-working space and an outdoor cafe that you can work out of. I personally find the co-working space a bit too dark and prefer the outdoor area. You don’t have to pay to sit in this area, so that’s a bonus too 🌝
Great for calls, usually silent.
📍Barefoot, Parra
👩🏻💻My all-time favourite! Great for ALL THINGS WORK. Solid wifi, a booth for calls, a quiet space for focused work and great food & coffee. They charge a 500 rupee cover, so best to work out of here when you plan to spend the day out.
