The allegation that Orthodox Jews—or Americans of any background—were excluded from the #UnitedWeStand Summit is scurrilous and false.
A number of Orthodox Jewish leaders were invited and attended. Attendees included the public policy director of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America (OU), America’s largest Orthodox Jewish organization.
An Orthodox Jewish New Yorker—Joseph Borgen—spoke movingly on stage about the brutal antisemitic attack he suffered.
Following up on the summit, @DHSgov established its Faith-Based Security Advisory Council and appointed Rabbi Moshe Hauer, the OU’s executive VP, to serve on that body. dhs.gov/news/2022/09/1…
Jewish leaders and rabbis of several denominations participated throughout the bipartisan summit, and we welcomed Americans of a wide variety of faiths, denominations, races, and political affiliations.
For a heartfelt take on the summit by an Orthodox Jewish attendee, read this in @JPostOpinion: "At the White House, I met the diverse Americans–Jews and gentiles, young and old–who survived violent hate crimes... Together, we mapped a hopeful future.” jpost.com/opinion/articl…

Public trust and public safety go together. There are places in America, particularly in Black and Brown communities, where bonds of trust between law enforcement and communities are frayed or broken. Here’s how @POTUS’ new executive order strengthens public trust and safety:🧵
.@POTUS’ executive order on effective and accountable policing:
✅Creates a national law enforcement accountability database
✅Bans chokeholds and raises standards for use of force
✅Prioritizes officer wellness
✅Restricts the transfer of military equipment
✅And much more
These actions will directly impact over 100,000 federal officers and make federal law enforcement a national model. The President’s directive uses every available lever to incentivize state and local law enforcement to adopt these reforms as well.

Today is a big day for advancing equity. 🧵
On Day One, @POTUS signed an executive order that made advancing equity the business of the entire government. That had never been done before.
He asked agencies to look under the hood, identify barriers preventing all Americans from accessing government services, and put forward concrete solutions.

Tomorrow marks one year since @POTUS and @VP took office. In honor of that milestone, I wanted to look back at 12 remarkable accomplishments @POTUS has achieved in the past 12 months. Buckle up!
1. We reduced health care costs and expanded coverage to nearly 5 million Americans whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/…
2. Thanks to the American Rescue Plan, we reopened 95% of schools and helped schools address the pandemic’s impact on students’ learning and mental health
