MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT VIRGINITY.
A woman's hymen can not tell you much about her virginity. Stop depending on it to judge if she is a virgin or not.

RT this thread for awareness.
The hymen is a membrane covering the vagina opening. Its shape and size varies in people.
It normally doesn't cover the vaginal opening completely to allow discharges/menstrual flow to pass through.
If imperfonate (covers vagina completely), surgery is done to open it up a bit.
In many cultures, however, people believe that once a woman's hymen is torn, she's been "disvirgined'

They also believe that when a woman is deflowered, she must bleed from the vagina to show that her hymen has broken (which proves her virginity).
In most cases, both are false!
Here's why:

1. Not all women are born with hymens. Nearly 1 in 2000 females don't develop a hymen at all, which means their vagina is naturally open.
So what did not develop at all should not be used to ascertain if she's had vaginal sex or not.
2. Activities other than vaginal sex can also tear a woman's hymen, especially strenuous activities like;
- swimming🏊‍♂️
- horse riding 🐎 &
- bicycle riding 🚲

There are also reports of hymen stretching aftee
- using tampons &
- inserting fingers/objects into the vagina.
3. Many women don't experience a hymen tear in their first vaginal sex because their hymen can comfortably stretch to accommodate the man's erect penis without tearing. So even after having sex, their hymen will remain intact.
4. Even if a woman's hymen is broken during her first sex, bleeding/spotting does not always follow.
So don't always expect to see her vaginal spotting to prove her virginity to you.
Putting these together, we can see clearly that it is wrong to depend on the state of a woman's hymen to judge her virginity in terms of having vaginal sex!

🚨KNOW ABOUT EBOLA 🚨

Ebola virus is a zoonotic pathogen that causes severe hemorrhagic fever in humans, known as Ebola virus disease (EVD) which is a deadly disease with occasional outbreaks that occur mostly on the African continent.

RT thread to save a life please. Image
EVD most commonly affects people & nonhuman primates (such as monkeys, gorillas & chimpanzees).

It is caused by an infection with a group of viruses within the genus Ebolavirus & only four (Ebola zaire, Sudan, Taï Forest & Bundibugyo viruses) have caused disease in people.
Of these, species Zaire ebolavirus (EBOV) is the most lethal, with case fatality rates of 70–90% if left untreated.

HOW IS IT TRANSMITTED
The virus spreads through direct contact (such as through broken skin or mucous membranes in the eyes, nose or mouth) with:

Things you should consider after having an UNPROTECTED sex

- Pregnancy
- HIV/AIDs
- STDs (such as gonorrhea, genital herpes, HPV, chlamydia,& syphilis etc)

1. For pregnancy use emergency contraception:
If within 72hrs- take Levonorgestrel pills (Postinor 2,Lydia etc)

RT thread
If within 5 days- take Ulipristal acetate or copper IUD under doctor's guidance.

2. For HIV/AIDs 👇

Run a Retroviral screening to be sure you're HIV negative, then your doctor can prescribe an appropriate PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis).
PEP means taking medicine to prevent HIV after a possible exposure and is only taken in emergency cases.

3. For STDs.
Your doctor will recommend some like microbial culture & sensitivity after which the appropriate antibiotics will be prescribed.

8 UNDERWEAR RULES TO LIVE BY FOR A HEALTH VAGINA.

1. Wear cotton underwear.

The vulva is a very sensitive & delicate area so you want to treat it gently. Cotton is a gentle fabric to touch your skin. It’s also breathable & absorbent which can help prevent yeast infections.

RT
2. Aim to change your underwear every day, even more than once if you want.

Due to excess Vaginal discharge,
Cotton-lined underwear will solve this problem since they're absorbent and it’s OK to change more than once a day. Avoid pant liners!
3. Go commando at night.

I believe the vulva area should be exposed to the air just like any other area of your body. Going without a cloth barrier allows the area to breathe overnight & keeps moisture from building up or creating an environment for bacteria to build.

HAVING SEX WHILE IN MENSES CAN STILL MAKE YOU PREGNANT.

There's a myth going around that women can’t get pregnant if they have sex while on their period.

While this doesn't happen all of the time, it still happens some of the time.

Here is why?

RT thread for awareness Image
If you have sex during your period, there is a strong chance you will not become pregnant. Menstruation is a sign that the ovum was not fertilized or implanted, resulting in a decline in hormone levels and uterine lining shedding.
During this time of your cycle, your chances of becoming pregnant are very slim.
However, the chances of getting pregnant during your period aren't zero for everyone, every month. Ovulation may occur quickly after your period if you have a very short.....

MEN'S MUST READ
Few weeks ago, while on duty in the emergency ward, I met a young student who had been having left scrotal pain for 3days. The pain was so bad it affected how he walked. When he noticed the pain initially, he had hoped it would disappear after a little while...1/8
When it didn't, he went to a center where he was given antibiotics. Perhaps they thought he had orchitis. Turns out he had testicular torsion. By the time he got to the hospital where I work, it was too late to save the testicle. Blood supply had been cut off from it for...2/8
