Today we have the two new trending narratives of the day for the echo chamber, K-51 chloropicrin grenade (no evidence provided) and the rusty AK out of context video. ImageImage
Narrative No. 1

#Primorye: #Mobilized conscripts report they were handed half-rotten Kalashnikov assault rifles.
Narrative Nº2
VIDEO of captured weapons taken from Russian soldiers. There is so much rust on these things not sure if a bullet can exit the barrel or if the receiver can even chamber a bullet without exploding. Vid via

1.🧵The problem with manipulation is that it is tremendously effective, it takes a lot of energy and time to identify, it requires proactive behavior and constant scrutiny. Every good manipulator knows that the general population tends to be quite lazy.
2.Ordinary people are not very inclined to use their energy in searching for complex meanings, feelings are automatic, that's why they are so effective in short-circuiting logical thinking, almost all sentiments in public relations hide abominable reasons.
3.Another mistake is to think that human beings seek to logically maximize their actions. The social-gregarious nature is a much greater force, instincts are faster than reason, fight or flight reaction, survival is above truth.

“Men have to be pampered or crushed, because they take revenge for light offenses, since they cannot take serious ones: the affront that is done to a man must be such that there is no occasion to fear his revenge.”

🧵 I can't talk about mass manipulation without mentioning the genius and pioneer Edward Bernays, extremely clear mind, the man behind the curtain.
When I came back to the US, I decided that if you could use propaganda for war, you could certainly use it for peace. And “propaganda” got to be a bad word because of the Germans using it, so what I did was to try and find some other words so we found the words “public relations”
We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of. This is a logical result of the way in which our democratic society is organized.

🧵Noam Chomsky, publicly vilified now, also offered his "10 strategies of manipulation" by the media, it is good to meditate on his words too
1. The strategy of distraction
The primary element of social control is the strategy of distraction which is to divert public
attention from important issues and changes determined by the political and economic elites,
by the technique of flood or flooding continuous distractions
2. Create problems, then offer solutions
This method is also called “problem -reaction- solution. “It creates a problem, a “situation”referred to cause some reaction in the audience, so this is the principal of the steps that you want to accept.
