I’m proud to have joined @krismayes today to condemn the Pima County Superior Court's decision to uphold a territorial-era ban on abortion. This law is cruel, life-threatening, and under this ban, it's Arizona women and families who will suffer most. 🧵 1/7 Katie Hobbs and Kris Mayes Press Conference
@krismayes This extreme law outlaws abortion with no exceptions for rape or incest and is a devastating blow to Arizonans’ reproductive freedoms. Under this law, government mandated forced births are Arizona’s new reality – and there is no hope of recourse if Kari Lake is elected. 2/7
@krismayes Additionally, this law means that abortion providers can be thrown in jail for providing reproductive care. Doctors and nurses will now be forced to think twice and call their lawyer before they provide patients with necessary, and oftentimes life-saving, medical care. 3/7
@krismayes I know from experience how hard it is to lose a pregnancy. I can’t imagine what it would have been like if I was told the medical care I needed at the time of my miscarriage could be considered a crime & land my doctor in prison.

That’s the new reality under this ban. 4/7
@krismayes Make no mistake, if Kari Lake is elected, she will support this law’s extreme restrictions and use her power to enact more anti-choice policies that put our health and freedoms on the line. 5/7
@krismayes When I’m governor, I will never risk women’s fundamental freedom to make our own health care decisions. If any legislation that restricts the right to choose comes to me, I will use my veto pen to block it — period. 6/7
@krismayes The majority of Arizonans support the right to a safe, legal abortion and this decision is a direct affront to what voters want. This #Roevember, we’re going to elect pro-choice candidates up & down the ballot and fight like women’s lives are on the line – because they are. 7/7

Northern Arizonans agree: Solutions Can't Wait! Here are some of the highlights from a great weekend touring the state. 🧵 1/6
We kicked off the tour by walking in the Navajo Nation Parade. This parade is one of the longest in the entire country, and we celebrated frontline workers every step of that 4-mile route! 🧵 2/6 Katie Hobbs Navajo Parade 2Katie Hobbs Navajo Nation Parade 2Katie Hobbs Navajo Nation Parade 3Katie Hobbs Navajo Nation Parade 4, Navajo Nation Band
Afterwards, I was honored to attend the reception with tribal leaders and members and talk about the progress we've made and the work we still have left to do. I look forward to continuing this work with you all when we win in November! 🧵 3/6 Katie Hobbs and Navajo President Jonathan Nez

Today my campaign released two new ads that hold @KariLake and @Karrin4Arizona accountable for their dangerous positions on the very first day of the general election. We are ready to beat either of these extreme opponents #azgov 🧵(1/4)
@KariLake @Karrin4Arizona WATCH: In our first ad, Lake’s radical plans for AZ are on display, including her devastating views on forced pregnancies for rape & incest victims, & plans to spy on children in classrooms – stances that make Lake so extreme even Republicans attack her.
WATCH: In our second ad, Robson is called out for her rich history of using her wealth and insider connections at the expense of everyday Arizonans. A billionaire lobbyist, Robson supports tax giveaways for herself but less for us.

If you're condemning the white supremacists, here's some actions that might speak louder than your words: /1
If you're in a position to hold the president accountable, actually doing that. Don't pretend your condemnation covers up his /2
his refusal to condemn (until today of course, and only then under extreme political pressure). /3
