1/ 71% of Americans say they’re in excellent health.
Only 12% actually are.
For millions of people, “getting healthier” is about green smoothies and viral wellness trends.
But that neglects something critically important: metabolic health.
2/ #MetabolicHealth is a measure of how your body processes and uses energy.
It tracks how well your body uses food to nourish its cells and how efficiently it stores energy for future use.
There are 5 key indicators:
1️⃣Central Obesity
2️⃣#BloodSugar
3️⃣#BloodPressure
4️⃣HDL
5️⃣TG
3/ Researchers increasingly find correlations between lagging metabolisms and physical health, mental clarity, and emotional stress — none of which can be fixed by green smoothies or the latest wellness fad.
Poor metabolic health sets off a domino effect on our health.
4/ It also affects intelligence, memory, mental awareness - leading to dementia and schizophrenia.
Those with metabolic syndrome are more likely to suffer anxiety & depression
Poor metabolic health can cause increased weight & risk for diabetes, heart disease, stroke, cancer.
5/ Metabolic health is the cornerstone of your longevity.
If you want to live the longest, happiest, and healthiest life possible, you can’t ignore it.
Sadly, being metabolically healthy is the exception rather than the norm in the USA.
6/ But there’s good news:
You can start taking control right now, and improvements can be swift.
In just one month, the markers for metabolic health can noticeably improve, indicating the road to health.
7/ If you want to ensure you’re taking the right steps to a long, healthy, happy life, my website has lots of free resources to help.
Poor metabolic health has serious consequences on the heart. It may increase existing risks for stroke, increase pressure in veins and arteries, and prevent the body from managing energy effectively.
This is accomplished by:
•Controlling blood pressure, which may put unnecessary strain on the vessels and arteries.
•Managing weight, which may contribute to heart disease and its recurring factors.
•Reducing risks for diabetes, stroke, and heart attack.
Above all, metabolic health is key to promoting lifelong disease prevention. Restoring a healthy balance is key for limiting risk factors and putting you at the controls of your personal wellness.
Now the complement to this is, if you are in the 1% of most fit people, I'm saying things on my Twitter that don't apply to you, and I usually don't have a * saying *except the 1%.
So I might confuse the 1% like Ox might confuse the 99%.
Which I'm okay with because the 1% are far more likely to be metabolically healthy.
So if I confuse you a bit, it's okay, you are already listening to Ox and are dialed in on most of what matters.
