There's no doubt in my mind that making AI art is real art.
I spent about 1.5 hours tweaking things to produce these visuals. The hair, perfect red lipstick color, focus, eyes, wrinkles, theme, reflections, clothes. It was a joy to achieve a result I couldn't have previously.
Fwiw, this is not just prompt engineering. I used img2img. The source imagery is quite different than the final output.
if I remove the source image with just the prompt for the first one I get this womp:
But once I added this AI generated version of Taylor Swift (bottom left) and modified the prompt a bit, I can create even an older version of the astronaut.
When making AI art, you spend tons of time iterating on possibilities. Tweaking. Finding new variants until you find the perfect shot. Kind of like using a camera to take many photos during a photoshoot:

A lot of founder/CEO dinners are back in San Francisco. It's hard to explain how valuable it can be to meet new people again through a single person's network.
The strength of the SV's network is coming back online after the last few years.
It's not enough to meet people once usually. Much of relationship building requires a frequency of serendipitous encounters where both parties aren't asking anything from each other.
I think that is coming back in full force in the Bay again.
Even if you run a remote company, as a founder, you will undoubtedly be at some disadvantage without some face to face serendipitous encounters that establish your network. Whether that's to help your company later or to have a crew of people who you have some shared misery with.
Tesla currently provides Comcast levels of customer support. They came to fix my car and actually made it worse—crashes all the time / GPS doesn’t work. You can only text them in the app. Nobody will give you a number to call.
Do I know anyone that works there?
Relatively close to giving up and selling it 🤷🏾♂️
It’s strange to me that they have a policy where they will never give you a phone number to bypass the automated phone support or app no matter the problem or experience.
