If Dhoni hadn't promoted himself ahead of Yuvraj, Muralidaran would have got Yuvraj... And IND would have missed another WC.
Moreover FYI, Dhoni just did not hit a single six in that final he played a good captain's knock of 91*(79) while top order collapsed.

With a group of youngsters without big names, he did lead them very good as a captain. Made Rohit the opener as he was struggling to bat outside powerplays.

In terms of batting, he played a decent knock of 27(26) in first inns of first match vs SA and never got to bat in next 3 chases..
It would be really tough in English conditions to come back again in high-pressure final (when few quick back-back wickets fell and boundary drought for 2 overs in a reduced 20 over game) without playing most of the previous inns and perform.
But his works from behind the stump and captaincy moves won us the CT trophy...🔥🔥
