More on Maciek Kaminski's proposed takeover of Everton. Although there has been positive dialogue, a deal is not imminent. No price has been agreed. Sources close to the Kaminski side also don't recognise £400m as the sale number being spoken of.
That may be what #EFC want, but Peter Kenyon's consortium, which Kaminski was part of before going solo, actually (& contrary to some reports) valued club lower (under £350m) with a commitment on top to fund new stadium. Agreeing a price with Farhad Moshiri remains the challenge.
Moshri's valuation has been as high as £500m in the past (he's softened a little) but due diligence during the period of exclusivity, which has now expired, resulted in a significant gap in valuation.
Any new Everton owner still has to find roughly two thirds of the investment required to fund Everton's stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock. Club have a preferable deal for construction with Laing O'Rourke, but estimated cost is still around £500m, with over £300m unaccounted for.
Kaminski, like Kenyon's consortium, is fully committed to funding the stadium but believes doing so should reflect on the sale price. Moshri argues this is already the case and talks continue.
Kaminski and his son Mikhail are both involved and view Everton as a sleeping giant. They also hope to capitalise on Everton's pretty healthy US fanbase, especially ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
As well as agreeing a price, further due diligence on both sides still needs to be undertaken. Nothing has been passed on to the Premier League just yet, or is close to reaching that point.
Current financial market is not ideal either. Although there's to some extent a window of opportunity for US investors to capitalise on a weak pound, general uncertainty or instability makes generating sale capital risky. KAM Sports would have to move assets before any transfer.
Another minor factor, that could potentially delay matters if things progress, is where exactly the sale funds will go. It is believed, following the Chelsea takeover, the Premier League and UK Government will want to check there is no benefit to Alisher Usmanov.
This is not thought to be a significant hurdle, since Everton & Moshiri severed ties with Usmanov. But for peace of mind & full transparency, am told KAM Sports want clarity over where the funds will end up & it is very possible other third-parties will seek the same assurances.
As per KAM Sports' statement back in June, they remain committed and dialogue is ongoing. But further negotiation is very much still needed to move things along.

As per BILD, I can confirm Christopher Nkunku underwent a medical in Frankfurt for Chelsea back in August. His release cause comes into force next summer. It’s set at £58.2m, which is actually below his current market value.
Nkunku contracted at Leipzig until 2026 but when he signed a new two-year deal in June it was to protect his value & because he decided it was better to remain at Leipzig until after the World Cup. Lots of interest in him after 20 goals & 13 assists in the Bundesliga last season.
For those seeking clarity: Nkunku’s medical can be seen as strong groundwork. But Chelsea would still need to trigger the release clause next summer or make a higher offer than it if they did want him in January.

Done a bit of digging on Maciek Kaminski's potential takeover of Everton. Told talks are ongoing but neither side speaking with certainty yet that a deal will get done. Kaminski working alone via KAM Sports now having split from Peter Kenyon's consortium.
Sources familiar with discussions say there is more due diligence required, including on liabilities and losses. But there has certainly been positive talks this month, which is progress compared to over the summer when Farhad Moshiri felt a deal was dead.
Even though in some respects there's a window of opportunity for US investors to exploit the pound's current weakness, the instability of the market has complicated discussions (especially since more time needed) as has the level of capital required to fund Everton's new stadium.

DGSI, France's main criminal court authority, proceeding with charges against three men (two police officers & a lobbyist) relating to extortion, blackmail, forgery & fraud. Lobbyist, known as Tayeb B, told Libération he tried to blackmail Nasser Al-Khelaifi several years ago.
NAK's lawyers this morning reiterated that the case has nothing to do with their client and has been brought by others who the three men allegedly extorted.
Tayeb B's lawyers also told Libération their client was imprisoned in Qatar due to being in possession of compromising documents relating to how Qatar won the 2022 World Cup, although this information has not been released or shown to any court (including in Qatar) to date.

Hummel, Denmark's kit supplier, have explained their "toned down" kits for the World Cup are a "protest against Qatar and its human rights record." They call the black third kit, "the colour of mourning". The designs are also inspired by Euro 92. ImageImage
In a powerful statement, Hummel say: "We don’t wish to be visible during a tournament that's cost thousands of people their lives. Whilst we support the Danish team all the way, this shouldn’t be confused with support for a tournament that's cost thousands of people their lives." ImageImage
Qatar's Supreme Committee respond with an equally bullish statement: "We dispute Hummel's claim that this tournament has cost thousands of people their lives. Furthermore, we reject the trivialising of our genuine commitment to protect the health & safety of the 30,000 workers."

Liverpool's interest in Moises Caicedo is long-standing dating back to his time at Independiente del Valle. The challenge back then was a complicated representation situation with a number agencies (including Kancha and PSM) claiming to act on his behalf.
Although the fee Brighton eventually paid was low (£4.5million) the agent fees were high. That put off Liverpool and Manchester United, too. Told Caicedo is now very relaxed about his future and will reassess after the World Cup.
Towards the end of the summer window, his representative agreement was running down, which caused a lot of instability and made it difficult for suitors. Caicedo also still under contract until 2025 and Brighton would love him to sign an even longer deal.

Important to note with Chelsea's forthcoming tax bill, the liability is effectively on the old regime. Due diligence was done at such speed that when (days before the license issued) this outlay became apparent, over £100 million was withheld from the sale price to foot the bill.
It's on the new regime to pay what is owed, but they will basically deduct it from the overall agreed price established before they knew about/factored in this tax bill, and the amount earmarked is believed to be well below the number they'll have to pay.
It would be bad news if they bought the club for the same price without knowing about a large tax bill. But since paying it has been factored in to the overall price, without raising it in any way, it just means there is less in the Government fund (just over £2.3 billion).
