This Face Tattoo Phenomenon™ is a perfect example of what I have termed Uselessly Branding Terminology To Try To Sound Smart™: the phenomenon whereby someone says something blaggity glappity goo roo to get attention, appear smart, and to try to control the discourse.
It's fascinating that what seems to be a partnership between the LOC & Lizzo to make the public aware of the bounty of the LOC collection (which belongs to all Americans) can only be understood as an attack on propriety/white people/conservatives or whatever. Where's the joy?
"Public sentiment is everything. With public sentiment nothing can fail; without it nothing can succeed." Abraham Lincoln, 1858.
Relatedly: when TR called the presidency a "bully pulpit" he didn't mean bully, like a meanie who uses force to get their way; he meant bully, like "jolly good show ol' chap."
One thing that I realized the other day is that pre-bunking only works with your side, because of frame warfare. Let me explain:
During the 2020 election there were tons of pre-bunking/pre-emptive framing attempts to explain how the electoral count was likely to occur: ballots would take time to count in certain places, mail in ballots longer than election day votes, etc.
The goal was to help people understand and predict the process so that they would be more likely to accept the result. Folks knew that the extra time to count the vote would cause concern and would allow Trump, et al to claim victory/claim the vote was rigged.
