Open source research often relies on social posts that contain videos and images
But posts can be taken down by platforms or uploaders at any time. Bellingcat has created the Auto Archiver to help researchers quickly and easily archive online content. bellingcat.com/resources/2022…
We have previously written on how to manually archive open source materials such as Telegram content.
The Auto Archiver complements those practices by creating a uniform and streamlined archiving process for a number of social platforms and media types.

Bellingcat is looking for Tech Fellows to help create educational content for online researchers.
This could be in the shape of texts or videos that show how to use technical tools or explain methods from which open source investigations may benefit.
There are lots of interesting tools and techniques out there but not always the simple, step-by-step guides that explain how to make best use of them.
Through this fellowship, selected candidates will support researchers who do not have a technological background as they learn to use exciting research tools or methods for the first time.

A Russian spy, who presented herself as a Peru-born jeweller with a chaotic personal life, sought to befriend NATO staff and figures who worked at the organisation’s Allied Joint Force Command in Italy over several years.
Maria Adela Kuhfeldt Rivera told those she met that she had been born in Peru but was brought up in Russia after being abandoned by her mother who had visited during the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow.
Over the years, she lived in Malta and Italy, travelling to many other European nations as well. She also founded a jewellery business.
Upon moving to Naples in Italy, "Maria Adela" opened a jewellery store, later turning it into a trendy venue.
