HOW TO HAVE A GOOD AND SUCCESSFUL OCTOBER! (a 🧵for edtwt)
1. MINDSET!!!! I cannot stress this enough. if you have a bad mindset going into this month (ex. I'll never loose weight, I have no control, ect.) then you'll start to believe those thoughts! FAKE IT TILL YOU MAKE IT.
2. ROMANTICIZATION!! this is definitely one of the most important things. tell yourself this is what you want, how cute you look and feel when starving, how fun restricting and fasting is, ect. this will motivate you and help put you back in your honeymoon phase.
3. BINGEING!! this is something a lot of ppl with eds struggle with. a helpful tip is to think in the moment and ask yourself if you really wanna do it. then think in the future and think about how much you'll regret it. remember one little mistake isn't a reason to keep going.
4. DIET!! im gonna be honest, you don't wanna be skinny fat. so make sure your diet consists of mostly protein, fruits, veggies. and make sure to be in a cal deficient obvi. this will help you keep/build muscle while loosing fat. and ofc make sure you drink enough water!
5. SLEEP!!!!! sleep is like rlly important for basically everything especially weight loss. you need at least 8 hours a night. and no, going to bed at 10pm and waking up at 7am isn't the same as going to bed at 2am and waking up at 11am . sleep also gives you energy!!!
6. HYGIENE!! try to shower at least every other day and wash your hair unless its not needed, and wear deodorant. staying clean is very important bc no one wants to smell yo stank ass. jk ik it gets hard when your depressed. but make sure to brush your teeth, change your clothes.
7. SOCIALIZE!! ik this becomes a problem for most ppl with an ed for many reasons, but its very important to make sure your talking to ppl and getting out of the house, or at least texting ppl. this will help too much if you're depressed!!
8. RESEARCH!! ik this ain't school but learning more about your ed can be super triggering and you'll most likely find some tips and stuff lmao.
9. SCHOOL!! doing school work can be a great distraction/excuse and keeping your grades up is important. don't procrastinate your work. REMEMBER. bmi low grades high.
10. ENVIRONMENT!! DEEP CLEAN YOUR ROOM. AND KEEP IT CLEAN. this changes so much. it makes me feel so much happier, less stressed, cleaner, ect. its so helpful I promise. start with picking up trash, then wash anything on the floor, then vacuum/clean, then put away/organize everyt
11. SET GOALS!! this is very important. set as many attainable goals as you want, little and small (write them down!!). make sure you have a deadline of when you want to achieve the goals. look at them often and follow up on them.
13. DISTRACTIONS! this is very important to keep yourself from eating. this can be anything that keeps you occupied.
14. TRACK EVERYTHING. you can journal, vlog, use an app, log, tell a friend, ect. just make sure you keep track of how much you eat, workout, what you do, ect. this helps you see improvement and it helps you romanticize more.
15. REWARDS. this will help motivate you!! you are not a dog, do not reward yourself with food. use anything that you are looking forward to as a reward!
16. PHYSICAL ACTIVITY!! (ideas) cleaning, walking, yoga, Pilates, cardio, sports, dancing, jump roping, ect.
17. DISCIPLINE/SELF CONTROL!! this is truly what's gonna make or break this whole month. CONSISTENCY is very important too. you need to be able control yourself all the time and know that food is a necessity and not a comfort.
